Anatolia is located at the intersection of three of the world's 36 biodiversity hotspots (the Caucasus, Irano-Anatolian, and Mediterranean Basin biodiversity hotspots) and has about 10,000 plant species, over 3000 of which are endemic. Among the many reasons for the astonishing biodiversity of Anatolia, one that stands out is the Anatolian Diagonal. Although the Anatolian Diagonal has long been recognized as a biogeographical boundary between Central and Eastern Anatolia, its exact functioning is still not well understood. Revealing genetic diversity is both essential for plant systematics and also provides important information for agricultural sciences. Crambe hispanica var. abyssinica is an oil seed crop. Wild plants related to crops (Crop Wild Relatives) are important resources for the genetic improvement of cultivated species. In order to reveal the genetic diversity of wild Crambe taxa of Turkey, we used ITS and trnL-F markers to create the haplotype networks and phylogeny reconstruction. The morphological characteristics of seeds are not affected by environmental factors and can be used to identify the Euphorbia taxa. The present study aims to determine the morphological characteristics of seeds in 27 taxa of Euphorbia using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and light microscope (LM). Findings revealed that the seeds of Euphorbia show variation in size, color, and seed surface ornamentations among different species. The seeds vary also in shape from ovoid, ellipsoidal, globose, quadrangular, compressed, to compressed-ellipsoidal with two exceptions in E. petiolata (oblong--quadrangular truncate), E. macrocarpa (subglobose), and E. szovitsii var. kharputensis(ellipsoidal quadrangular truncate). The Afşar section, situated in the Dombayova graben in western Turkey, is one of the key localities for the study of the Pliocene of Anatolia. Two fossiliferous layers yielded micromammal assemblages, including various cricetine and arvicoline species. These include the species Mimomys cf. gracilis, Pliomys sp., Arvicolinae gen. sp. and the cricetines Cricetulus cf. ehiki and Cricetulus sp. in Afşar 1 and Mimomys hassiacus, M. gracilis, Pliomys graecus and Mesocricetus primitivus in Afşar 2. In vitro embryo production (IVP) can help alleviating reproductive difficulties in cattle and buffalo. This study compared qualitative and quantitative features of native cattle and buffalo ovaries and oocytes to understand them comprehensively. In addition, it was conducted to pick the ideal ovaries for oocyte collection and to assess either maturation affects oocyte diameter or not. The ovaries were collected from the local slaughterhouses of Dhaka city, Bangladesh. In this study, polymeric nanocomposites of PANI and PANI/nanometal oxides (Fe2O3, NiO, SnO2, WO3, ZrO2) as photocatalysts were synthesized with a chemical polymerization method. Structural characterizations of synthesized polymeric nanocomposites were performed as follows: FT-IR, SEM, TEM and XRD, and TGA. Hydrogels incorporating different reactive groups are important platforms for the fabrication of functional materials through the conjugation of diverse molecules. In this study, a dual-reactive hydrogel system was designed utilizing aldehyde and azide groups containing methacrylate monomers. Hydrogels were obtained in the presence of a dimethacrylate crosslinker with a combination of hydrophilic PEG-based monomers via free-radical polymerization. The azide and aldehyde sites of the hydrogel network are reactive towards alkyne and amine functional groups, respectively. The 2-substituted benzoxazole derivatives are known to exhibit a wide spectrum of biological potential. Two series of novel benzoxazole derivatives containing 2-phenyl and 2-N-phenyl groups were synthesized, by following the green chemistry approach. All the newly synthesized derivatives were screened against gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus), gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli) and the fungus (Aspergillus clavatus and Candida albicans). Most of these compounds have demonstrated potent antibacterial activities, especially against E. coli at 25 μg/mL, along with moderate antifungal activity. The Chinese pond mussel Sinanodonta woodiana (Lea, 1834) (Bivalvia: Unionidae) is among the most invasive freshwater species worldwide. The last decades have seen its rapid geographical spread beyond the species' natural range, particularly in anthropogenically modified water bodies across Asia, America, and Europe where it is now very common. In this paper, we also confirm the presence of S. woodiana in Africa (Algeria) by establishing the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Ramsar site Oubeira Lake as a new locality for its occurrence. Risk assessment and vector control programs rely on a comprehensive knowledge of mosquito diversity in different areas. The present study aims to evaluate mosquito biodiversity in different areas of Sirjan County, Kerman Province, as one of the most important economic zones of Iran. Totally 4538 mosquitoes representing 19 species and four genera were collected and identified. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the length and weight (LWR) of 15 Oxynoemacheilus species i.e. Oxynoemacheilus bergianus, O. brandtii, O. chomanicus, O. euphraticus, O. elsae, O. frenatus, O. karunensis, O. kiabii, O. kurdistanicus, O. longipinnis, O. parvinae, O. persa, O. marunensis, O. zagrosensis, and O. zarzianus from Iranian inland waters. This work presents information about 19 taxa recorded from different habitats at depths between 0.2 and 508 m in the last two decades, which are new records or poorly known species along the Turkish coasts. Background: Compelling evidence has manifested a strong association between aberrant expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and gastric carcinoma (GC) development. Nonetheless, biological impacts of differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) on GC are not scrutinized. Methods: Bioinformatics methods were employed for differential expression analysis and target gene prediction. MTT, colony formation, and Transwell methods were implemented for GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion assessment. Western blot was implemented to test the protein level. Therefore, genome-wide next-generation sequencing (NGS) reads biased towards specific nucleotide profiles are affected by the genome-wide heterogeneous nucleotide distribution. Boquila generates sequences that mimic the nucleotide profile of true reads, which can be used to correct the nucleotide-based bias of genome-wide distribution of NGS reads. Boquila can be configured to generate reads from only specified regions of the reference genome. The aim of this study was to investigate the polymorphism of the κ - casein gene (kappa casein, CSN3) in buffaloes and determine its effects on milk yield traits. Data were obtained from 2016 to 2019 from all animals in the ongoing Anatolian Buffalo Breeding Project. In this study adult common and golden palm civet mandibles were analysed by geometric morphometric method. For this purpose, the materials were photographed in accordance with the procedure and analysed using computer programs. No allometric component was detected in the comparison of the mandibles. The first principal component defined 28.657% of the total shape variation in the mandibles of the two groups that were analysed with a total of 19 landmarks.
