Date palm (2n = 36) is a monocotyledonous, dioecious plant, which belongs to the family Arecaceae. Pollens are the primary source of diversity and improvement in quality, yield, ripening time, and size. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the differential behavior of nine pollen sources, collected from different locations, upon pollination with date palm female cultivar Hillawi. Heavy metal (HM) pollution of soil has become a gigantic issue across the globe. Metals enter the food chain and cause problems in plants, animals, and humans. We performed this work to evaluate the impacts of different cadmium (Cd) levels on growth, physiology, mineral nutrition, and yield attributes of Vigna radiata. Changes in growth fund are statistically significant and directly linked with an increase in Cd doses. Seed traits are very important agronomic traits that contribute significantly into crop yield and are considered useful indicators to monitor the inheritance of quantitative traits influenced by genotype and environmental conditions. To investıgate genomic regions useful for breeding high-yielding and highly nutritious common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars, a mini core collection of Turkish common bean germplasm was screened under five environments and two locations for seed traits (seed width, seed yield/plant (SYP), and hundred seed weight). The objective of the study is to reveal diversity among some chickpea germplasms and selection criteria for agromorphological and cooking properties using multivariate techniques for improving new cultivars. The experiment was arranged in augmented block design with 65 chickpea germplasms and 2 check cultivars during 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. Positive correlations of seed yield per plant were found with primer branches per plant, biological yield per plant, harvest index, pods per plant, and seeds per plant. In this study, firstly, enzyme-active malt flours were obtained from different germinated grains including wheat, barley, rye, triticale, millet, maize, rice, and oat. Next, these enzyme-active malt flours and commercial enzyme were added to bread wheat flour in a level that provides the same amylolytic activity and their effects on bread quality were investigated. The germination process significantly increased the amylolytic enzyme activity in grains but also caused a significant change in L*, a*, and b* color values. In the present study, molecularly imprinted polymers were synthesized using caffeic acid (CA) as a template molecule and then used for the extraction of CA and chlorogenic acid (CLA) from complex matrices. Syntheses were carried out in tetrahydrofuran as porogenic solvent using 4-vinyl pyridine, methacrylic acid, acrylamide, and 1-vinyl imidazole as monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker and 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. In polymerization processes, different ratios of the template:monomer:crosslinker (T:M:CrL) were used to obtain the most suitable polymer. A wide range of biological properties can be achieved with phosphorus-containing dendrimers, depending on their terminal functions, ranging from biomaterials to imaging, drug delivery, and acting as a drug by themselves. Background/aim: Methotrexate (MTX) is a folic acid antagonist that is widely used to treat osteosarcoma, leukemia, breast cancer, and autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The most important concerns with MTX are its poor solubility and high toxicity, particularly in liver cells. Background/aim: The respiratory muscles of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exhibit structural and functional changes that can be evaluated and monitored by ultrasonography. Materials and methods: This single-center, prospective study was conducted in the emergency department (ED) of a tertiary care hospital over an eight-month period (September 2020-May 2021). Diaphragmatic excursions, end-expiratory thickness, and thickening fractions, as well as right and left intercostal muscle thicknesses, of all adult subjects manifesting COPD exacerbation, were assessed. The aim of this study is to identify and summarize the evidence and risk factors of canine inguinal hernia containing the uterus (Inguinal Hysterocele; IH) etiology by presenting our clinical experience with a literature review. A total of 18 canine IH cases were evaluated in the study. Of these, four have not yet been published anywhere, two have been published before, and 12 were obtained through a literature review. Mastitis is a contagious disease that causes significant milk loss and serious economic damage in dairy animals. Streptococcus agalactiae causes clinical and subclinical mastitis in animals and infections in humans, especially adults, and newborns. This study aimed to confirm the identification of S. agalactiae isolates by PCR in buffalo milk; to determine the antibiotic resistance and virulence genes by multiplex PCR. In this study, it was aimed to stereologically examine the medulla oblongata volume of Norduz sheep in the Gürpınar District of Van Province. Upon receiving news from the sections in the Gürpınar region, we went to the region. A total of 12 Norduz sheep skulls, 6 females and 6 males, were received from the Norduz sheep slaughter in the region. Splenic siderofibrotic nodules (SFNs) are benign tiny yellow-brownish foci found in dogs. Their pathogenesis is unclear whereas trauma and hemorrhage are assumed to be the possible causative factors. The spleen of 73 Iranian dogs of the mixed breed was examined for possible splenomegaly with SFNs. Ultrasonography, blood biochemistry, pathology, and immunohistochemistry revealed splenomegaly (n = 7), splenomegaly with SFNs (n = 6) and normal spleens (n = 60). There was no significant difference between the prevalence of splenomegaly with SFN among the examined dogs and their age or sex (p > 0.05). Black Soldier Fly (BSF) is an alternative ingredient for Fish Meal (FM) which is expected to reduce aquaculture operational costs and positively impact fish growth and health. The effect of BSF fresh meal on growth response, digestibility, intestinal hematology, and intestinal histology of cork fish was investigated. The BSF experiment with mixed percentages as treatments, by 20%, 50%, 80%, and 100%, was repeated four times.
