Objective: Osteoarthritis is widely recognized as one of the leading causes of disability in dogs globally, yet there is currently no treatment that can substantially alleviate the condition. Our study aims to assess the impact of a physiotherapy protocol on dogs suffering from osteoarthritis.

Materials and Methods: Twenty dogs were allocated randomly into either the physiotherapy (PTG) or the control group (CG). First day all dogs received a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) injection. This is the first research to investigate the adaptation of lactation milk production and physico-chemical milk properties of dairy goats adapted to warm climates and low altitudes to terrestrial climates and high mountain areas (altitudes of 1500–2000 m) in a grazing-based production system. Kilis goat is a local dairy goat breed of Türkiye, adapted to warm climates and low-altitudes (altitudes of 600–800 m). Parasites are naturally present in the natural gastrointestinal fauna of marine mammals without necessarily causing any pathology. However, under various stress conditions, parasites can cause pathological disorders in the gastrointestinal system. There is insufficient information on parasite fauna of mammals living in the Black Sea waters off the Turkish coast. This study examined the stomach contents of bycaught and stranded harbour porpoises collected between 2002 and 2003 along the Turkish coast of the western Black Sea for parasitic presence. Bovine fertility remains a critical factor in the economic sustainability of livestock operations, with subclinical endometritis (SE) posing a significant challenge. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of SE research, aiming to elucidate research trends, influential scholars, and key concepts in the field. A total of 483 articles extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) database managed by Clarivate were analyzed using R Studio and the Bibliometrix package. The analysis reveals that SE research initiated in 1992 but experienced a substantial surge between 2014 and 2016. Theriogenology (n = 82) emerges as the most prolific journal in the field. …

Background/aim: Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) are rare but life-threatening severe cutaneous drug hypersensitivity reactions. The aim of our study was to evaluate the clinical features of pediatric patients diagnosed with SJS, TEN or SJS/TEN overlap and to examine treatment modalities.

Materials and methods: Patients aged 0–18 years who were followed up with SJS, TEN or SJS/TEN overlap at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital between August 2019 and January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.

Two species of Androctonus have been reported to date from Iran: Androctonus crassicauda (Olivier, 1807) and A. sistanus Barahoei and Mirshamsi, 2022, which is distributed only in the southeast of Iran. Investigating and identifying the distribution range of dangerous species is critically important for scorpion management. A total of 105 specimens of Androctonus were collected from representative locations in Esfahan, Yazd, Kerman, Hormozgan, Hamadan, and Khuzestan provinces. The main objective of this study was to predict the ecological requirements of Alosimus marginicollis (Haag-Rutenberg, 1880), for which limited ecological information is available, and to predict possible suitable habitats under current conditions and different future scenarios. An ensemble model-based approach, combining multiple algorithms (GAM, GLM, MARS, MaxEnt), was used to predict suitable habitats for this species using bioclimatic, topographic and land cover variables. In this study, we conducted comprehensive analysis to determine the morphological, linear morphometric, and geometric morphometric differences between three subspecies of Talpa levantis: T. levantis levantis, T. levantis dogramacii, and T. levantis transcaucasica. Molecular analyses including mitochondrial DNA (complete cyt b gene) and nuclear DNA (BRCA-2) were also used. The current inventories of elasmobranchs in the Sea of Marmara have some taxonomic problems that need to be solved. One problematic species in the elasmobranch fauna of the region is Raja clavata Linnaeus, 1758, and atypically coloured specimens of this skate species may have been misidentified in the past as congeners or closely related species. The study of viral diversity in uncultivated fungi, including those involved in mycorrhizal relationships, alongside research on viral communities in phytopathogenic and economically important fungi, is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of mycovirus diversity and evolution. Mycorrhizal fungi host various viruses, contributing to our understanding of virus diversity and evolution. Here, we report on the identification and complete genome characterization of two novel mitoviruses that naturally infect the hypogeous, mycorrhizal fungi Statesia pompholyx and Tuber sp. In this study, the physiological changes in Artemisia dracunculus L. plants under salinity stress and the remediative roles of leonardite-derived liquid humic acid (HA) were investigated. Salt stress caused a significant decrease in measured growth parameters (plant height, fresh weight of leaves and stems, dry weight of leaves and stems, number of leaves and leaf area). HA had a positive effect on growth parameters at 75 mM NaCl concentration, except for leaf number, but its effect was limited at 150 mM NaCl concentration. Background/aim: This study explores the antiulcer activity of different doses of Salvia aegyptiaca (SAE) methanol (ME) and decoctedextracts (DE) on ethanol-induced gastric ulcers in rats.Materials and methods: Female Wistar rats weighing 180–200 g were divided into five groups: control, omeprazole (positive control),and extract-treated (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg). Ulcers were induced with absolute ethanol 30 min after treatment with the extracts.The experiment was followed by macroscopic and histopathological examination. The Lycus Valley in Western Anatolia has been the site of numerous civilizations since ancient times due to historical, geopolitical, and climatological characteristics. Banded travertine is a ubiquitous architectural stone observed in ancient settlements in the Lycus Valley. Banded travertines referred to as “Alabastro Fiorito,” “Alabastro Listato,” and “Alabastro Rossa” in archaeological bibliographies have been extracted from the ancient quarries of Çukurbağ, Hierapolis, Develi-Akköy, Gölemezli, and Tripolis in the Lycus Valley and are characterized by white, yellow, brown, red, and red-burgundy colored bands with thicknesses ranging from a few millimeters to centimeters. Synthetic osteobiologics are artificial materials crafted in laboratories that aim to replicate the natural composition and functionality of bone. Notable examples, such as calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate, are engineered to mirror the mineral aspect of bone. Background/aim: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of empagliflozin on cyclophosphamide-induced neurotoxicity in rats.Materials and methods: A total of 32 male Wistar rats were separated into 4 groups as 8 rats each: control group, cyclophosphamide group, empagliflozin group and the cyclophosphamide plus empagliflozin group. At the end of the experiment rats' brains were removed for biochemical analysis of oxidative stress parameters (malondialdehyde, total sulfhydryl, total oxidant status and total antioxidant capacity) and histopathological analysis.Results: Total sulfhydryl levels were increased in group empagliflozin and group empagliflozin and cyclophosphamide compared to the cyclophosphamide group but did not improve …
