Robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) are emerging as potential supports; however, without clear policies, preparation, and nurse involvement, deployment risks being unsafe, inequitable, and poorly aligned with real-world care.

Approximately 70% of all new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections are among populations of sexual and gender minorities (SGM) and are primarily attributable to sexual contact. Currently, only 26% of the U.S. population who would benefit from HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) are prescribed this effective biomedical HIV prevention strategy. Biomedical prevention strategies for bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STI) like doxycycline postexposure prophylaxis (doxy-PEP), are a vital component to the successes of ending the HIV epidemic given the well-known association between STIs and risk for HIV infection. Aim: To identify the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among hospital nurses and explore their effects on productivity loss.

Design: An analytical cross-sectional study with secondary data analysis was conducted.

Methods: Data were collected via an online survey of 607 registered nurses working in general and tertiary hospitals in South Korea. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to examine the association between musculoskeletal disorders and four productivity loss indicators: absenteeism, presenteeism, perceived productivity loss, and work limitations.

Results: Musculoskeletal disorders were highly prevalent among hospital nurses, with 83.9% of participants reporting muscu-loskeletal disorder symptoms in the past week. Lower back complaints …

Nurses play a vital role in disaster management by helping to reduce the long-term health effects of disasters. Preparedness involves a series of activities to anticipate and lessen losses. Studies from 2014 to 2019 showed that 45.8% to 78.5% of hospital nurses in various Asian countries had less than ideal preparedness for disasters and lacked awareness. The study aimed to describe nurses’ familiarity with emergency preparedness in four private hospitals in western Indonesia in April 2021. Aim: To explore the experiences of long-term care workers in preventing emerging infectious diseases, the challenges they faced during the pandemic, and how they were addressed.

Design: This study used an exploratory qualitative research design.

Methods: The study involved various long-term care institutions across Taiwan. Twelve interviewees, including four nurses, four nursing assistants, and four managers, were recruited via purposive sampling. In 2022, there were 2.8 million undergraduate students in the U.S. About 6% studied abroad, leaving 94% of students without exposure to global perspectives. To enable global learning for nursing students, Ohio State University College of Nursing in Ohio and Lovisenberg Diaconal University College in Norway developed a common course on urban health whereby two separate teaching strategies were used: travel abroad to Norway/U.S. and “at home” collaborative online international learning (COIL). Purpose: In a nationwide study, 44% of college students screened positive for depression, with 23% screening positive for a provisional diagnosis of major depression (Eisenberg et al., 2023). The American College Health Association [ACHA] (2024) reported significant mental health symptoms among undergraduates, with 78.8% reporting moderate to high levels of stress and 24.2% reporting a previous diagnosis of depression. Concerningly, 28.1% had a positive screening for suicide risk on the Suicide Behavior Questionnaire-Revised (ACHA, 2024). Early studies with these families predominantly focused on problems and deficits, while my work highlights the strengths and resilience these families often exhibit. My program of research has contributed to a more nuanced understanding of these families by emphasizing the dynamic processes that enable families to adapt successfully to adversity.
