The purpose of this paper is to explore literature on informetrics education globally, in order to determine the relevance of informetrics education in South Africa. This paper is based on the literature review on informetrics education in the field of LIS worldwide. The paper addresses the status of informetrics education; extent and levels at which informetrics education is offered; teaching methods for informetrics education; and, challenges associated with informetrics education. The literature reveals that there are 32 countries that offer informetrics education within the field of LIS worldwide. The paper investigates Indian Bioinformatics research during 2011-2019 using Web of Science database. It attempts to quantify the national contribution to growth efforts and identify areas of citation, h-index and highly cited articles. Also highlighted the growth of Indian bioinformatics output using different scientometrics indicators. The results show the output for collaborative study, top ranked journals and authors, citation of the journals, h-index, p-index score and mapping of co-authorship and cited reference. COVID-19 brought the public’s attention to the critical value of transportation and supply chain workers as lifelines to access food and other supplies. This report examines essential job skills required of the middle-skill workforce (workers with more than a high school degree, but less than a four-year college degree). The study assesses levels of Information Access Skills (IAS) in social science researchers at select central universities in Delhi. Questionnaire was used to collect relevant data on skills like information browsing, use of information search tools, and information search strategy consisting of natural language search, keyword search and Boolean search. The descriptive and inferential statistical tools like ANOVA, Post-hoc test using LSD were used to analyze and interpret the collected data. On the competency scale, a big total of 46.2% of researchers were found incompetent in IAS. Suggests measures to enhance the IAS levels of information privileged researchers.

This study carried out the scientometric analysis of road traffic accident research in India from 1977 to 2020. It aimed to examine type of publications with their citations and usage, the year wise publication and citation growth, most preferred journals, authors’ preference of keywords used, collaboration of Indian authors, authorship pattern and most prolific authors, and top contributing organizations. During 44 years of study, 1,132 research items were published and indexed in Web of Science (WoS) bibliographic database. This paper carried out the bibliometric analysis of research publications published by the BLDEA’s V P Dr.P.G.Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur for the period from 2001 to 2019. In this period, 156 research articles were published and indexed in Scopus bibliographical citation databases. It examines the year wise publications, the annual distribution of publications, author productivity, etc. Analysis found that, the publications raised from 0.64%to 18.59% publications from the year 2001 to 2019 and observed good progress in scholarly publications. Quantifying variability in the ocean carbon sink remains problematic due to sparse observations and spatiotemporal variability in surface ocean pCO2. To address this challenge, we have updated and improved ECCO-Darwin, a global ocean biogeochemistry model that assimilates both physical and biogeochemical observations. The model consists of an adjoint-based ocean circulation estimate from the Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean (ECCO) consortium and an ecosystem model developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Darwin Project.
