Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive

This practicum was designed to improve the student's manual keyboarding composition skill. This writer developed a program to integrate these skills in a structured, progressive plan. To develop the manual skill, the students were dictated questions requiring one letter responses, progressing to full-paragraph responses as demonstrated each day in a 5 minute warm-up journal writing. …

Designing And Implementing A Development Program At Roanoke Valley Christian School., Philip H. Graybeal

Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive

As a ministry of Shenandoah Baptist Church, Roanoke Valley Christian Schools (RVCS), grew since its founding in 1973 to a size of 535 students (K-12) and 31 teachers. The administrative team consisted of the administrator, elementary principal, secondary principal, and part-time learning disability director.

RVCS reached a plateau in its growth pattern as seen in enrollment statistics that showed a difference of no more than 18 students during any one year from the 1983-88 mean enrollment of 535. Records indicated that development was needed in public relations and recruitment materials, facility expansion, and non-tuition funding.

During the process of the …
