"The property of the Ruby Copper Company is located in Township 21 S., Range 15 E., near the southern end of the Santa Rita Mountains, Wrightson Mining District, Santa Cruz County, Arizona. It is reached by a good wagon road from the town of Pantagonia, which, because of its location on the Benson to Nogales Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad, is the supply point for a large mining section--page 1.

"The zinc ores mined at and near Mascot, Tennessee, are found in the upper part of the Knox dolomite which according to Keith was laid down in the middle Cambrian or Silurian age. This formation has a thickness of several thousand feet and is composed of layers of dolomite, limestone, sandstone, shale and some chert. The ore bearing portion at least is much folded with minor faulting and high brecciation. The axis of the folds lie Northeast by Southwest with the faulting in the same direction. The ore being mined is found on the Southeast dip in a fairly definite …

"This thesis applies to a central power station located in a rapidly growing manufacturing city with a present population of 40,000. The station is connected by high voltage transmission lines with six hydro and steam generating stations located in other cities. These transmission lines are mainly for emergency purposes so that this report considers that the station here studied will carry its full load. The boiler room is the only part of the station considered in this thesis as a previous study showed that there was ample space in the engine room for turbo-generator for years to come"--Introduction, page 1.
