The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

In this present study, 11 porcine epidemic diarrhea viruses (PEDVs) were isolated from the fecal samples of piglets infected with PEDV in HeiLongJiang province of China. In order to analyze the molecular evolution of these reemerging PEDVs, the ORF3 and M genes of 11 PEDVs were amplified by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, cloned, sequenced, and analyzed with each other as well as other PEDV reference strains. The complete nucleotide sequence comparison was performed with Bioedit software, and the results showed that the similarity of 11 ORF3 and M genes ranged from 97% to 100%. Nucleotides and amino acids were …

Investigation Of Sodium Laurylglucosides Hydroxypropyl Sulfonate Through Response Surface Methodology – Effects Of Amphoteric Surfactant And Electrolyte, Phantira Uongpitakpan, Jutarat Kitsongsermthon

The Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The goal of this research was to investigate the effect of electrolyte and an amphoteric surfactant on the viscosity, foamability, and foam stability of sodium laurylglucosides hydroxypropyl sulfonate (SLHS), a new anionic surfactant. Different concentrations of cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB, 0–6% w/w) and sodium chloride (NaCl, 0–3% w/w) were added into 10% w/w SLHS solution. Each formulation was evaluated for its viscosity using a viscometer, whereas the foamability and foam stability were measured using the cylinder shaking method and analyzed by response surface methodology. The result demonstrated that an increased viscosity of the mixture resulted with an increased NaCl concentration over …

The Diffusion Of Identity : A Study Of Three Contemporary Thai Short Stories Through The Lens Of Western Narrative Conventions, Sean Ford

Manusya, Journal of Humanities

Literary works give expression to universal themes through settings, subjects, and techniques that are culturally tied. This article reviews generic conventions involving point of view, protagonist, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution that typify Western short stories in order to examine how varying patterns can illuminate cultural contrasts between Thailand and the West. Widely known stories by Katherine Mansfield and Amy Tan serve to exemplify the conventional Western pattern and its versatility and to provide a basis for discovering alternative patterns that characterize numerous contemporary Thai short stories. An analysis of stories by S.E.A. Write award winners Phaitoon …

Total Quality And Innovation Management In Hospital, Suebsakul Tonjang

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Previously, quality of care and customers' satisfaction in healthcare services is fulfilled only through total quality management (TQM) which as a core management philosophy, as adopted by many healthcare organizations. Nevertheless, TQM focuses on incremental improvement may prove insufficient to address the new technology and innovation-driven organization with a faster pace. Therefore, this research aimed to integrate quality and innovation management in healthcare affecting healthcare performance. To propose the key factor of both TQM and innovation management in healthcare, we conducted a systematic literature review. Then, TQM and innovation management factors were combined and integrated with ISO 56002 as to …

Effects Of Intergroup Ideologies On Willingness To Engage In Intergroup Contact With Essentialism As A Mediator, Piraorn Suvanbenjakule

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Various studies have found that merely interacting with an outgroup does not necessarily lead to better intergroup relations. The prejudice against Myanmar in Thailand is still an issue that needs solving. Therefore, cultures should be understood as an ongoing process in the hope that it would be more consistent with the current social environment and improve intergroup relations. The first study was a cross-sectional study that examined the self-reported scores of polyculturalism and the willingness to engage in intergroup contact with essentialism as a mediator. The online survey was distributed, and 112 high-school and university students were included in the …

Influences Of Herbicides On Health Of Rice Frog Fejervarya Limnocharis Populations In Nan Province, Thailand, Luhur Septiadi

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Intensive and continuous herbicide use in agriculture may pose a risk to health of environment and non-target organisms, including amphibian. Prior research conducted between 2010-2011 using the rice frog, Fejervarya limnocharis, as a sentinel revealed an accumulation of herbicides (atrazine, glyphosate, and paraquat) in environmental samples and frog tissue, as well as adverse effects on the health status. This study aims to determine the potential influence of herbicides on population health of the rice frog. Between July 2020 and February 2021, frogs were collected from two paddy fields with varying degrees of herbicide use in Nan province, Thailand. The results …

Development And Evaluation Of Wound Healing Property Of In-Situ Hydrogel Formulation For Topical Delivery Of Short-Chain Hyaluronic Acid In Dental Use, Porniweat Rosaming

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Regeneration of damaged periodontal tissues becomes one of the biggest challenges that is hard to overcome, even without the presence of any pathogens. Tissue engineering was proposed as a possible technique for the lost tissues’ restoration. In this study, methacrylated hyaluronic acid (MeHA) hydrogel was developed with different concentrations of low molecular weight (short-chain) hyaluronic acid to achieve the hydrogels with suitable physical properties and biological properties for dental tissue regeneration. The results revealed that short-chain hyaluronic acid (sHA) could interfere with some behaviors of networking systems; however, overall properties (including gelation time, mechanical properties, swelling and degradation profiles, and …
