Background: To prevent hypertension and long-term risk of cardiovascular events, older adults with prehypertension have to adhere to preventive behaviors. Little is known about the experience of adherence to preventive behavior among older adults with prehypertension.
Method: A constructivist grounded theory approach was used to develop a model explaining the process of adherence to preventive behavior among older adults with prehypertension living in Thailand. Participants were recruited using purposive and theoretical samplings from two primary health care units in Western Thailand. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 26 participants. Background: Reporting of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) is not the sole responsibility of health workers providing routine immunization services, but also of health workers providing clinical treatments and working in other health units. This study aimed to assess health workers’ level of knowledge as well as reporting attitudes and practices on AEFI in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Method: A cross‑sectional survey using a convenience sampling method was used to recruit Primary Health Care workers in four Local Government Areas (LGAs). A self‑reported questionnaire was adapted from a previous study and used to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices on AEFI.

Background: Hand hygiene (HH) is an effective strategy to prevent infections. This study aimed to explore the association between HH behavior among peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients or caregivers and PD-related infection.
Method: A single-center, cross-sectional study was conducted among PD patients and primary caregivers of totally-dependent PD patients. Data were collected through a participant information form and three different questionnaires about knowledge of HH, facilities for HH, and HH behavior. Documentation of PD-related infections were obtained from patients’ medical records during the last 12 months. Descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression were used to analyze the data.

Background: Automatic instant messaging systems are currently a well-known smoking reduction tool for public health. However, smokers’ engagement is lacking, as many prefer to communicate with experts during the quitting period so they can receive advice on dealing with the consequences of nicotine abstinence. Background: Lifestyle intervention is effective in preventing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The efficacy of intervention components across different sociocultural settings is relevant for real world implementation. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally tailored diabetes prevention program (CTDPP) for at-risk Muslim people in Thailand.
Method: The CTDPP was developed and culturally adapted based on formative research. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), commonly used phthalate esters (PAEs), are persistent pollutants found in landfills due to the increasing accumulation of plastic waste. To develop an effective bioremediation tool, in this study, we explored the responses of indigenous bacterial communities in landfill waste covers to PAE contamination and identified and isolated the keystone species that play roles in PAE degradation to form PAE-degrading consortium. Microcosm experiments at room temperature (27-30°C) and 37°C showed rapid removal of 300 mg/kg DBP, with 95% removal in 14 days individually and 90% in 21 days as a mixture. DEHP at 300 …

Background: Dysbiosis refers to an imbalance in the types of microorganisms in a person’s natural f lora, associated with several diseases like asthma, type 2 diabetes, and atopic dermatitis (AD). Reports indicate that Staphylococcus aureuscolonizes about 60%-100% of AD skin, causing barrier dysfunction through virulence factors such as superantigens, enzymes, and other proteins. These factors disrupt skin homeostasis by affecting keratinocytes and immune cells. Collaborative planning is emerging as a novel approach to stakeholder participation, to create new values and products within urban planning. However, the motivations behind participating in the planning process have been limitedly addressed. Fainstein, Healey, Forester, and many planning theorists argue the necessity of public participation in urban development. Nevertheless, project-affected people may consider it a time-wasting, disinteresting and frustrating process. Since the 2019 Wuhan outbreak, the COVID-19 pandemic badly hit all sectors of the global economy. The creative and cultural sectors (CCS) are among the hardest hit. The value chain of CCS (i.e. creation, production, distribution, accessibility to contents) was severely immobilized. In cities, mitigation measures implemented to contain Covid-19 significantly downsized the CCS. Jobs, incomes and livelihoods of creative and cultural employees were threatened. This preliminary study focused on the use of animation to reduce anxiety among pediatric cancer patients undergoing venipuncture in the hospital. It was conducted on 30 pediatric cancer patients aged 5-9 years. The Pretest- Posttest study method was applied in which the level of anxiety was measured before and after viewing the film and then it was analyzed to determine whether the animation could help relieve anxiety in the study population. This research's aim is to experiment with acrylic plates in the four Intaglio Printmaking processes of Drypoint, Hard Ground, Soft Ground and Aquatint as an alternative to the normally used copper plates, which are more expensive and must be purchased from a specialized vendor, and its processes involve the usage of chemicals that may affect health. Experiments in this research show that using acrylic plates with alternative processes can reduce intricate workflows, reduce workspace and costs involved, since this process requires less equipment and materials to be used, and more importantly reduce chemical consumption. This art activities program was designed to enhance the aesthetics, mood, cognition, and quality of life (QoL) of elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The control group was given a single session of MCI knowledge, whereas the intervention group attended weekly art activities, based on visual thinking strategies, combined with cognitive development of aesthetic experience and contemplative arts for six weeks. There was no difference between the Thai Geriatric Depressive Scale (TGDS) scores or Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scores between the two groups. Microplastics are synthetic polymer particles with a length of 5 mm or less with no well-defined lower boundary. These debris particles are known to affect marine and aquatic organisms which poses a threat to biodiversity and marine resources. In this study, the isolated microplastic from the coastal and lagoon surface waters of Sitio Pulo is described. Sitio Pulo is a barrier island mangrove sanctuary located at Brgy. The river water quality index (RWQI) of the upper Ganga canal has been computed to assess the effect of lockdown and unlock phases lead down by COVID-19 in India. Geospatial distribution of RWQI from January 2019 to December 2021 in the study area revealed significant impacts of lockdown on water quality. However, unlock phases (post lockdown) have deteriorated water quality since August 2020 and reached to actual conditions of the river by August 2021. Soybean is a nutritious and popular material in the Vietnamese food industry. Soybean processing wastewater contains a significant amount of organic compounds, which have a negative impact on aquatic life due to light penetration and oxygen consumption limitations. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine whether the combination of activated sludge and a constructed wetland using VA06 grass could be effective in treating soybean wastewater. Various amounts of activated sludge were investigated. วัตถุประสงค์: ผู้ป่วยโรคกรดไหลย้อนบางราย แม้จะได้รับการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดมาตรฐาน ก็ยังมีอาการของกรดไหลย้อนตอนกลางคืน ซึ่งงานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบประสิทธิภาพของการนอนยกศีรษะสูงโดยใช้หมอนรูปลิ่มร่วมไปกับการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดมาตรฐาน กับการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดสองเท่าวันละสองเวลาในการรักษาผู้ป่วยโรคกรดไหลย้อนที่มีอาการตอนกลางคืน รวมถึงเพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของการใช้หมอนรูปลิ่ม วิธีการวิจัย: ผู้วิจัยคัดเลือกผู้ป่วยที่ยังมีอาการของกรดไหลย้อนตอนกลางคืนมากกว่าหรือเท่ากับ 2 ครั้งต่อสัปดาห์ แม้จะได้รับยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดมาตรฐานมาแล้วอย่างน้อย 4 สัปดาห์ โดยมีเกณฑ์ในการคัดเลือกผู้ป่วยออกจากโครงการวิจัย เช่น ผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะอุดกั้นหายใจขณะหลับอย่างรุนแรง โรคอ้วน มีความผิดปกติของโรคของการทำงานของหลอดอาหารที่ผิดปกติรุนแรง หลังจากนั้นจะสุ่มผู้เข้าวิจัยเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มที่รักษาด้วยการนอนยกศีรษะสูงโดยใช้หมอนรูปลิ่มขนาดความสูง 20 เซนติเมตรร่วมไปกับการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดมาตรฐาน (กลุ่ม wedge pillow) กับกลุ่มที่รักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดสองเท่าวันละสองเวลา (กลุ่ม twice-daily PPI) เป็นระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์ เพื่อศึกษาผลของการรักษาต่ออาการกรดไหลย้อนตอนกลางคืน โดยประเมินจากแบบสอบถาม NGSSIQ ที่สัปดาห์ 0, 2 และ 4 รวมทั้งผลของการรักษาต่อคุณภาพชีวิตและคุณภาพการนอนหลับ นอกจากนี้ยังประเมิน parameter จากการวัดค่าความเป็นกรดในหลอดอาหารและกระเพาะอาหาร 24 ชั่วโมงที่สัปดาห์เริ่มต้นและสัปดาห์ที่ 4 โดยใช้ electronic pressure sensor timekeeper ในการตรวจ compliance ของอาสาสมัคร และเพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของการใช้หมอนรูปลิ่ม ซึ่งจะประเมินจาก GPE scale ผลการศึกษา: ผู้ป่วยเข้าร่วมโครงการวิจัยมีทั้งหมด 24 ราย (ชาย:หญิง 7:17, อายุเฉลี่ย 57±13 ปี) ผลการศึกษาพบว่าทั้งสองกลุ่มมีระดับคะแนน NGSSIQ ลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ณ สัปดาห์ที่ 2 และ 4 เมื่อเทียบกับค่าเริ่มต้น (p<0.05) ) แต่ไม่พบความแตกต่างกันของคะแนน NGSSIQ ที่สัปดาห์ที่ 4 ระหว่างสองกลุ่ม เมื่อสิ้นสุดสัปดาห์ที่ 4 พบว่า ในกลุ่ม wedge pillow มีประสิทธิภาพในการเพิ่มคุณภาพการนอนหลับและช่วยลดระยะเวลาในการเคลื่อน ลงของอาหารในหลอดอาหาร (bolus contact time) ในเวลากลางคืนได้ดีกว่ากลุ่ม twice-daily PPI อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ และ โดยผู้ป่วยจำนวน 10 จาก 12 รายในกลุ่ม wedge pillow (ร้อยละ 83.3) รู้สึกพึงพอใจต่อหมอนรูปลิ่ม สรุปผล: การรักษาทั้ง 2 วิธีต่างก็มีประสิทธิภาพในการลดอาการกรดไหลย้อนตอนกลางคืนได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญไม่แตกต่างกัน แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม วิธีการนอนยกศีรษะสูงโดยใช้หมอนรูปลิ่มร่วมไปกับการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดมาตรฐานก่อนอาหารเช้า มีประสิทธิภาพในการเพิ่มคุณภาพการ นอนหลับ และการลด bolus contact time ในเวลากลางคืนดีกว่าวิธีการรักษาด้วยยายับยั้งโปรตอนปั๊มขนาดสองเท่าวันละสองเวลา นอกจากนี้อาสาสมัครมี ความพึงพอใจต่อการนอนยกศีรษะสูงโดยใช้หมอนรูปลิ่ม และยินดีที่จะใช้หมอนนี้ในระยะยาว ดังนั้นการนอนยกศีรษะสูงโดยใช้หมอนรูปลิ่มจึงสามารถใช้เป็น ตัวเลือกในการรักษาผู้ป่วยโรคกรดไหลย้อนที่มีอาการตอนกลางคืน

This in vitro study aimed to investigate the effect of different chromium metal alloys on enamel wear through longitudinal observation across various simulated chewing cycles. Four groups of alloys were studied (n=10 per group): casting Ni-Cr alloys (NC), casting Co-Cr alloys (CC), SLM Co-Cr alloys (CS), and heat-treated SLM Co-Cr alloys (CS-H). The test simulated chewing of enamel cusps against the alloys in distilled water under specific conditions (49 N load, 0.7 mm sliding movement, and 1.6 Hz frequency). The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted public transportation, causing a substantial decline in bus passengers. In 2021, Bangkok witnessed a 40-60% reduction compared to normal conditions, while Jakarta experienced a staggering 76% decline compared to June 2019. This study aims to assess passengers' intentions to use buses during the pandemic and analyze factors influencing mode choice. Two methodologies were employed: the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to identify factors impacting transportation intentions and the Hybrid Choice Model (HCM) to understand mode choice influencers.
