"Bridesmaids": A Modern Response To Patriarchy, Blair Buckley
Communication Studies

Geographical Spread Of Asians In California, Lydia Tang
Geographical Spread Of Asians In California, Lydia Tang
Social Sciences
The goal of my senior project is to perform a spatial analysis of Asian American settlement patterns within California. With my findings, I want to predict future Asian immigrant settlement patterns, places within California that they will likely cluster around, the rate of immigration, and how their increasing or decreasing presence in California affects California’s urban and economic climate. What I hope to achieve from this study is an understanding for why certain areas attract more Asians than others. By finding the answers to the following questions, I will be able to forecast the future spread of Asian Americans in …

Fire Protection Analysis Of The ‘Center For The Arts’ Building', Steven W. Carman
Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports
In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Masters of Science in Fire Protection Engineering, a prescriptive and performance-based analysis was performed on a building housing the Center for the Arts. The building was constructed in 1947 in California as an automobile dealership and repair shop under the provisions of the then-controlling Uniform Building Code. It subsequently underwent several occupancy changes and has since served as a beauty school, gymnastics center, and currently as a performing and visual arts center. Prescriptive analyses were conducted based primarily upon the provisions of the 2010 California Building and Fire Codes, and …

The purpose of this Life Safety Report (LSR) is to provide a prescriptive based analysis of the Adam County High School based on the existing codes that the building was constructed under. This will include exterior and interior building construction, fire protection systems, and egress requirements. Additionally, this report will evaluate selected performance based design scenarios for the High School. Findings and recommendations to the performance based design scenarios, along with any deficiencies, are noted at the conclusion of the report. The prescriptive analysis of this report will focus on the International Building Code requirements with emphasis on Chapters 4 …

Projection Based Design: A Collection Of Acquired Knowledge, Max Brown
Liberal Arts and Engineering Studies
The application of new technology in a classic medium, such as theatre, can be a strong force in creating a unique experience for both the audience and the designer. At first, introducing new media techniques may seem like a novelty and easily dismissed as a gimmick. The fact is the modern audience is more familiar with information displayed in video format and will find projected video elements implemented into the scenic design as another way to access the story the performers on stage are trying to convey. It is our duty as designers to utilize every tool at our disposal …
