Orangeburg Assembly Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses- Fire Protection And Life Safety Design Analysis, Justin B. Biller
Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports
In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Masters of Science in Fire Protection Engineering, a prescriptive and performance-based engineering analysis was performed on the Orangeburg Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The building was recently constructed and completed in 2013 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to serve as a center for education of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Biblical principles for daily life. More than 300 congregations throughout Georgia and the Carolinas will use the Assembly Hall for their semi-annual assemblies and conventions, with an estimated annual attendance of 190,000 per year. Cinema In The Digital Age: A Rebuttal To Lev Manovich, Barbara Cail
Philosophy
In his book The Language of New Media, Lev Manovich claims the index is an ontological condition of cinema. Manovich asserts digital cinema can never be indexical and therefore has fundamentally altered the very nature of cinema, reducing it to a form of animation. This paper offers a refutation of Manovich’s redefinition of cinema, showing that digital cinema can be indexical, but indexicality is not an ontological condition of cinema.

Confused Spaces: Theatricality As A Device For Defining Different Types Of Public Space, Danton Christopher Spina
Master's Theses
Confused Spaces has come to the conclusion that theatricality can be a device for defining different types of public space. This book aims to define theatricality in architectural terms by taking principles from the disciplines of theater and urban design. It limits the scope of the definition to a specific set of elements of theatricality that include spectacle, transition, flexibility, and compactability. After attempting to define why these elements of theatricality are valid architectural concepts, the text then pushes to understand the experience that these elements can create.
