Biological Sciences Data
1. Management of emerging pathogen and parasite threats could provide cost-effective compensatory mitigation options for protected species, such as golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos). Golden eagle nestlings are vulnerable to infestations of poultry bugs (Haematosiphon inodorus), a blood-sucking ectoparasite that lives in nest material, and trichomonosis, a highly lethal disease caused by the protozoan Trichomonas spp. We aimed to develop effective treatment protocols for poultry bugs and trichomonosis and project whether nestling parasite and disease management would have population-level effects in this long-lived apex predator.
2. We collected pre-treatment data on poultry bug loads in eagle nests, then we applied 1 …

The Prison-to-College Pipeline Program (PTCPP), a university-community engagement initiative, promotes higher education in prison in response to high rates of incarceration and the ongoing need for increased access to educational opportunities in the state of Mississippi.* In line with the University’s core value of devoting our knowledge and abilities to serve our state and world, this Program unites university faculty and administration across disciplines and area institutions in the ethical-intellectual endeavor of teaching at the postsecondary level in the state prison system. Above all, the PTCPP helps students who are imprisoned in the state of Mississippi who have attained a …

Relationship Between Proximity To Harm Reduction Programs And Social Stigma Against People Who Use Drugs, Mark Vasilchenko
Relationship Between Proximity To Harm Reduction Programs And Social Stigma Against People Who Use Drugs, Mark Vasilchenko
Student Theses
Social stigma against people who use drugs (PWUD) is incredibly common and has a negative impact on quality of life and recovery. PWUD that are subjected to stigma from their community are at higher risk of homelessness, overdose, and other drug-related health issues. Harm reduction programs encourage PWUD to use safely with a variety of services, including but not limited to drug testing, needle exchange, and professional supervision during drug use. These services are empirically proven to decrease drug use, overdose, and crime as a whole within the communities where they are implemented, but they often appear counter-intuitive to the …

Properties Of A Class Of Analytic Functions Associated With Exponentially Convex Functions, K. R. Karthikeyan, Elangho Umadevi, G. Thirupathi, Dharmaraj Mohankumar
All Works
Studies in univalent function theory comprising the exponential of differential characterizations are rarely considered. The prominent study in this direction is the study of so-called α-exponentially convex functions. Here we study a class of analytic functions which satisfy an analytic characterization influenced by the definition of the multiplicative derivative and α-exponentially convex functions. Integral representation and coefficient inequalities of the defined function class are the main results of the paper.

This project consists of two components, a creative artefact, and written exegesis. The creative artefact is a short film script called 'Parallel Lines' which explores a conversation between a mother and her daughter after the death of the mother.
In my creative practice, cinema is the most impactful medium of generating meaning. I would go as far to state that cinema is a necessary medium in order to explore human emotions. Representation is known to impact audiences and it is for this reason that I have chosen cinema to be the mechanism to examine in depth within the work.

The Working Mothers Support Network was formed in April 2016 with the support of The Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies. Group members are secretaries, deans, students, professors, coaches, and everything in-between. Our children range in age from infancy to post-college. Participation is open to any mother on campus seeking support from women that face, or have faced, the issues that arise from being a working mom.
