Simulated Solar Capacity Including Snow Cover in the Eastern U.S.

Using 2020 weather data, we ran PySAM power production simulations for utility-scale PV sites in the U.S. Eastern Interconnection queue. Site IDs, capacities, and locations (counties) were extracted from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Queued Up: 2024 Edition dataset. No panel mount information was provided, so all sites were assumed to be single-axis tracking systems. Sites’ latitudes and longitudes were assumed to be the centers of the installation counties. See queued_site_metadata.csv file for individual site metadata.

The Neurophysiology and Behavior Laboratory investigates the neurobiological mechanisms of behavior. A major goal in neuroscience is to understand how the brain processes salient environmental stimuli and promotes behavioral adaptation. Under some circumstances (i.e. stress) changes in neuronal activity generate mal-adaptive behavior and ultimately the development of psychiatric disorders such as drug addiction. Our challenge is to identify how and when neuronal changes are translated into pathological behavior. The Neurophysiology and Behavior Lab is located in the Thad Cochran Research Center on campus (animal facility). We utilize in vivo electrophysiology and pharmacology to track the neuronal correlates of behavior.

This data set contains the raw tensile and torsional Instron measurements reported in Carbon-Infiltrated Carbon Nanotube Coating Effect on Bacterial Resistance and Ti6Al4V Substrate Material Properties. The data in these files was used to generate the stress–strain curves presented in the study.

Introduction

This project implemented standard operating procedures for inventory management in a low-resource clinic, incorporating First Expired, First Out (FEFO), Just-in-Time (JIT) ordering, and barcode scanning to reduce medication waste and optimize inventory processes. The aim was to reduce medication waste and optimize inventory processes.

Methodology

The Lean Six Sigma framework guided this project. Root causes of waste included inaccurate demand forecasting, lack of expiration tracking, insufficient staff training, poor stock rotation, and absence of standardized procedures. Baseline waste and practices were recorded. Medications were organized with nearing expirations upfront (FEFO), PAR levels were set, and JIT ordering implemented. Waste …

Drizzle initiation through the collision and coalescence of cloud droplets plays a crucial role in warm cloud precipitation. Recent theoretical studies suggest that the influence of collisional growth on the droplet size distribution can be quantified by a non-dimensional drizzle number (Dz). Here, large-eddy simulations with Lagrangian microphysics are employed to evaluate the theory by simulating a tall convection-cloud chamber under various conditions. Results show that the smaller the Dz, the larger the impact of collisions on the right tail of the droplet size distribution, consistent with the theory. SHADE Lab: Stigma, Health, Attitudes, Diversity, Ethnicities Lab

The SHADE lab examines antecedents and consequences of prejudice, stigma, and bias. We use perspectives that examine both high and low status group members’ responses to discrimination and how this influences cognition, health, well-being, and intergroup relations. Our lab employs a variety of methodologies including both online and in lab experiments, longitudinal designs, and surveys. Across our research we utilize behavioral, self-report, and physiological reactivity measures to examine the broad consequences of stigma and bias.
