(TAS) archeologists assessed the cultural resource potential of a 2.1-mile long, 100-foot wide West Texas Gas (WTG) Benedum EP 46-19 ROW and pump station on University Lands (UL) in north central Crockett County. The proposed ROWs consist of an E-W poly line (0.6-miles long) and a N-S steel line (1.5-mile long) starting at an existing station and running south and southeast to an extant gas plant. An archaeological survey of the proposed 209 acre City of Temple Recycling and Disposal Facility Expansion Project in Bell County, Texas was performed by Ed Baxter Consulting in January and February of 2015. Edward P. Baxter was the Principal Investigator and the Project Archaeologist. This study was carried out under Texas Antiquities Committee Permit Number 7143. The project area was investigated using the pedestrian survey method supported by shovel testing. In all, the project area consisted of 209 acres. This report presents the results of an archeological reconnaissance survey for the proposed expansion and realignment of Farm-to-Market road (FM) 2478 (North Custer Road) in northwestern Collin County, Texas (CSJ 2351-01-017). The project involves the expansion of approximately 2.45 miles of FM 2478 from a two-lane undivided roadway to a six-lane divided roadway, the reconstruction of the existing bridge structures that span Wilson Creek and Rutherford Branch, and the realignment of approximately 0.54 mile of roadway from Rhea Mills Circle to FM 1461. Coastal Environments Inc. (CEI) conducted a cultural resources remote-sensing survey of two areas adjacent to Shamrock Island, Nueces County, Texas. The northern-most of these covers 56.38 hectares (139.31 acres), while the southern-most survey area encompasses 44.8 hectares (110.69 acres). These are proposed locations of sand borrow areas to be used by the Nature Conservancy, Texas Coast Office for the Shamrock Island Restoration Project. Data were collected by Naismith Marine of Houston, Texas on December 15th and 17th, 2014 and supervised by the principal investigator and the remotesensing specialist from CEI. The project will connect a natural gas pipeline in Texas with a natural gas pipeline in Mexico. Because of the international nature of the project, the survey fell under jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The City of Seguin (City) is proposing to construct a new, replacement effluent outfall for the Geronimo Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The City also proposes to abandon the existing outfall structure and existing pipeline in place. The proposed project will involve the extension of an existing 24 inch (in) (61 centimeters [cm]) wastewater treatment plant effluent line for a length of 535 feet (ft.) (163 meters [m]). On behalf of Brookfield Residential, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted an intensive cultural resources investigation of the proposed Pilot Knob Wastewater Interceptor Project in southeast Austin, Travis County, Texas. The project involves the construction of a roughly 2.1-mile-long wastewater interceptor line with an 80-foot temporary and 40-foot permanent easement, and encompasses 20.0 acres. The project has two components: the initial 1.7-mile-long wastewater interceptor and the additional 0.34- mile-long Phase 2 extension.

An archaeological survey of the site of the proposed water supply improvement project in north-central Runnels County, Texas was performed by Brazos Valley Research Associates (BVRA) on August 14 and 15, 2015 under Antiquities Permit 7381 issued by the Texas Historical Commission (THC). This survey examined five areas where water wells are proposed, one proposed ground storage tank site, and segments of proposed transmission lines that connect with the above mentioned improvements. The Goode Hunt (41CS23) and Clements (41CS25) sites are early historic Nasoni Caddo cemeteries and settlements in the Pineywoods of East Texas. The Clements site was first investigated in 1898 by W. T. Scott, and then again in 1932 by archaeologists from the University of Texas (UT). The nearby Goode Hunt site was also investigated by UT in 1932.

This publication summarizes major archaeological findings from the July 1977 excavations at the Mound Pond site (41HS12), in the Pineywoods of Harrison County, Texas. The site lies on the south, or right, bank of Big Cypress Creek in the upper reaches of Caddo Lake, approximately 4 km north of the village of Uncertain.

The Hardin A site (41GG69) is an ancestral Caddo settlement on a high alluvial terrace landform overlooking the Sabine River floodplain in Gregg County, Texas, a few miles west of Longview, Texas. The modern channel of the river is ca. 650 m to the south. The site, which is in the East Texas Pineywoods, has well preserved midden deposits, pit features, as well as a looted cemetery area.

Davis site in the South Sulphur River valley in East Texas was investigated by archaeologists from the University of Texas (UT) in 1919 and 1934, because an aboriginal cemetery had been exposed by plowing and later looting. Sanders site (41LR2) is one of the more important (although still not well known or intensively studied) ancestral Caddo sites known in East Texas, primarily because of its two earthen mounds and the well-preserved mortuary features of Caddo elite persons buried in Mound No. 1 (the East Mound). A.D 1430-1680), sites along tributaries of Lake Fork Creek in the upper Sabine River basin in East Texas, nor far from Quitman, the county seat for Wood County. This includes sites such as J. H. Reese (41WD2), L. L. Winterbauer (41WD6), 41WD19, 41WD44, Pine Tree (41WD51), Burks (41WD52), and Steck (41WD529) with habitation features, midden deposits, and family cemeteries.

The Joe Meyer Estate #1 site (41SM73) is an ancestral Caddo settlement and cemetery on an upland landform west of Saline Creek, a southern-flowing tributary of the Neches River in the upper Neches River basin. In the spring of 1957 members of the East Texas Archeological Society (ETAS), including John Mulligan, Sam Whiteside, Derrell Sanders, and Jowell Proctor, had located the site and commenced excavations. The site had substantial midden deposits as well as Caddo burial features.

The L. L. Winterbauer site (41WD6) is an ancestral Caddo habitation site in the Lake Fork Creek basin in the Post Oak Savannah of East Texas (Figure 1). It is situated along a small tributary stream that flows west into Lake Fork Creek, itself a tributary to the Sabine River, about 1.5 miles west of Quitman, the county seat of Wood County. The recovered artifacts from the investigations of the Winterbauer site indicate that the site was occupied during the Late Caddo period Titus phase, dated generally between ca. A.D. 1430-1680.
