Feeding And Care Of Calves, R. R. Thalman
Feeding And Care Of Calves, R. R. Thalman
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Circulars
It is not infrequent that considerable difficulty is encountered in raising calves with limited amounts of milk or none at all. Requests for information on calf gruels, mixed grain feeds, and commercial supplements are frequent enough to make a short circular upon this subject seem desirable. Furthermore, as the more diversified agricultural program gets under way these requests are increasmg.

The Lungs And Respiration In The Frog, Peter P. Strassburg
The Lungs And Respiration In The Frog, Peter P. Strassburg
Bachelors’ Theses
In a wide sense, respiration is sometimes defined as the gaseous exchange constantly taking place between an organism and its environment. Essentially it is concerned with the intake of oxygen and the output of carbon dioxide but it also includes any other gas exchange that might occur. Small organisms take oxygen directly from the air or from the watery medium surrounding them into all parts of their structures. They also give off carbon dioxide from all their parts directly into the surrounding medium. They can do this successfully because they are small enough to have every cell in direct or …
Some Studies Of The Cytology Of Cancer, Arthur O. Christiansen
Some Studies Of The Cytology Of Cancer, Arthur O. Christiansen
Bachelors’ Theses
The microscopy of the malignant cell has received the attention of large numbers of investigators, who have sought some definite morphological criterion of malignancy. The early literature of cancer research contains descriptions of abnormal cell structures and cytological processes which have been regarded as distinctive of cancerous growth. Subsequent investigations, however, have failed to establish any precise cytological diagnostic characteristic of cancer. The cells of new growths however, present a wide range of pathological variations. of particular interest from the point of view of cellular pathology, by which in some oases have been erroneously interpreted, and have consequently led to …
Electrogalvanic Phenomena Of Dental Importance, Morris Schwartz
Electrogalvanic Phenomena Of Dental Importance, Morris Schwartz
Bachelors’ Theses
The fact that dissimilar metallic restorations in the same mouth gives rise to electrogalvanic symptoms has been recognized for over one hundred years. Nineteenth century and early twentieth century accounts describe these phenomena more or less at length. However, it was not until the last decade that some attempt was made to correlate these electric phenomena with oral lesions such as leukoplakia, buccal ulcer and even carcinoma.

Ulceromembraneous Stomatitis, Emil Cerrato
Bachelors’ Theses
Recognizing the fact that considerable data has been recorded and still more work actually has been accomplished in the alleviation of the pain and suffering incident to the infection of Vincent, yet, from the comparative standpoint with what is known of other pathological conditions, this disease does not seem to receive the attention which it demands. With the exception of a numbered few, none of the more modern scientific works have any lengthy discussion in reference to this disease.

Swine Erysipelas, L. Van Es, C. B. Mcgrath
Swine Erysipelas, L. Van Es, C. B. Mcgrath
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Research Bulletins
Because of the more or less frequent occurrence of swine erysipelas on Nebraska farms it seemed proper that information on this subject be made available in the form of a Station publication, especially written to serve as a reference for veterinarians, who naturally are first appealed to when an as yet relatively strange disease appears among a herd of swine. Hence the text is written in a technical form for the sake of precision. In the preparation of the text the literature of countries in which for many years the disease has constituted a permanent problem has been freely consulted. …
