This National Security Strategy addresses the persistent national security challenges the United States faces in the Middle East, a region vital for global energy supply, economic connectivity, and a source of anti-American extremism. Digital Preservation Policies In University Libraries: A Content Analysis, Ramsey Mcmanus

In an increasingly digital world, libraries continue to expand their digital collections. As these collections grow, librarians must work to ensure that these digital materials remain accessible over time. Having clearly articulated digital preservation policies helps libraries define their preservation commitments and establish guidelines for preservation actions. This study examines how university libraries approach digital preservation through their policies, focusing on those that are publicly available and accessible online. The content of these policies is evaluated against commonly recognized elements of digital preservation planning, including preservation scope, metadata practices, integrity checking, storage redundancy, and format migration. Purpose In this paper, the gap between the discussion of co-design in the theory and its application in the higher education practice is identified. By contrasting the level of knowledge that the stakeholders possess regarding co-design, the support that the institutions provide them, and their implementation of co-design in practice, it leaves a few general trends, attitudes, and problems.

Background: Our health system library fields thousands of requests for literature searches each year in support of research, policy, evidence-based practice projects, and care for individual patients. With fewer library staff than comparable institutions and an engaged, multidisciplinary clinical workforce, we face ongoing pressures to do more with less and to demonstrate our value.

The Anchor: 2026

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

A library renovation presents a unique communication challenge, requiring a thoughtful strategy that minimizes disruption while building anticipation. When James Madison University (JMU) decided to renovate and expand its flagship library, the JMU Libraries’ Communications & Outreach team pivoted from routine promotional efforts to a streamlined communication model designed to handle significantly increased, narrative-driven messaging related to the renovation. This article outlines the renovation project’s communication plan, describes our streamlining efforts, and highlights unexpected opportunities that emerged along the way—allowing us to share the library’s story in new ways and with broader audiences.
