The Significance Of Projecting Enrollment In Determining School District Apportionment Revenue In Washington State For 1979, Charles M. Plesha
The Significance Of Projecting Enrollment In Determining School District Apportionment Revenue In Washington State For 1979, Charles M. Plesha
All Graduate Projects
The enrollment of the Sunnyside School District for the 1979-80 school year was estimated. This enrollment figure determined the potential staff allocation size, which in turn determined the 3010 apportionment revenues from the state. Revenues, likewise, determined the district's 00, 30 and 97 programs' staff expenditures. Those predictions were made for the general fund budget only. In addition, other revenues received from the state by Sunnyside School District, which effected the 3010 apportionment account, were explained. Actual historical enrollment data of Sunnyside School District No. 201 were utilized to make all projections as meaningful as possible.

The paper focuses on the intermediate and advanced ESL student and includes suggestions for materials development at each particular level. The purpose of the paper is to provide a practical outline for those teachers or administrators whose task is to initiate a formal ESL …

POD Quarterly: The Journal of the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education
The Fifth Annual POD National Conference was held at Fairfield Glade Conference Center October 21-24. The conference evaluation report summary follows this report and once again Glenn Nyre has done a fantastic job.
The Fifth Annual POD Conference was, in my opinion, a success because of the 168 people who attended and contributed to the sessions and made the POD meeting a community.

Cse, Mo And Aa: Three Evaluation Strategies, Glenn F. Nyre, Clare Rose
POD Quarterly: The Journal of the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education
A model for, a method of, and an approach to evaluation are summarized and discussed in this column. The CSE model, developed at UCLA's Center for the Study of Evaluation, is a decision-oriented model; the Modus Operandi Method presents an alternative strategy which can be used when experimental or quasi-experimental designs cannot be used; and the Adversary Approach suggests a process through which all positive and negative features of a program can be identified.
Diagnostic Testing In Mathematics, David L. Outcalt
Diagnostic Testing In Mathematics, David L. Outcalt
POD Quarterly: The Journal of the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education
High school graduates have been demonstrating less skills in mathematics at the same time that students entering colleges and universities need to have more of those skills to be able to succeed in an increasing variety of disciplines. One way to ease that problem is to develop criterion-referenced diagnostic tests together with remediation keyed to the results of such tests. Diagnostic tests of that type contrast with norm-referenced tests in that they provide a profile of strengths and weaknesses in each essential topic for every student. Such a profile has several important advantages. Students can receive advice in terms of …

POD Quarterly: The Journal of the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education
This is the last issue under my editorship. As has been planned from the start, Glenn Nyre will be editor for 1980, Volume 2 of this Quarterly. Originally, Lance Buhl was going to be editor for 1981, but his election as Executive Director precluded that since it is improper in volunteer organizations such as POD to ask an individual to take on the two most demanding responsibilities back-to-back. However, the developing strength of POD was demonstrated in the ease by which two highly qualified and enthusiastic members were recruited for future editorships: Sandra Inglis for 1981 and Robert Young for …
