Basanan is a musical repertoire from Banyuwangi associated with the oral traditions of the Using community. This study aims to analyze the musical arrangement of Basanan performed by Jazz Patrol Kawitan Banyuwangi, focusing on melody, harmony, rhythm, structure, dynamics, and instrumentation. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed, using audiovisual performance recordings, musical transcriptions, interview data, and relevant literature. The analysis involved repeated observations, identification of musical elements, and interpretation of their relationships within the arrangement. The findings indicate that the arrangement employs pitch material associated with B-flat major, with an emphasis on G in certain melodic passages. Its harmonic treatment …

This study examines the user interface (UI) designs of Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves and explores Generation Z players' perceptions of their visual and functional characteristics. Employing a descriptive qualitative comparative approach, data were collected through direct game observation, interface documentation, semi-structured interviews, and open-ended questionnaires involving five Generation Z players domiciled on Java Island, Indonesia. The analysis focused on four interface components: the heads-up display, main menu, character menu, and inventory menu, evaluated using five design principles: clarity and simplicity, clear and concise language, consistency, visual hierarchy, and visual aesthetics. TikTok has become a digital communication space for promoting products while constructing representations of identity and gender. This study examines linguistic strategies in the representation of femininity in beauty product advertisements on TikTok Indonesia. It employs a qualitative descriptive method using Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis (Feminist CDA). The data consist of verbal elements from advertisements by Scarlett Whitening, Wardah Beauty, and Natur-E, analyzed in terms of lexical choices, grammatical structures, persuasive forms, and rhetorical strategies. This study examines objective and formal introversion as an analytical framework for understanding the visual organization of 12th–13th-century CE (6th–7th centuries AH) glazed ceramics from Bamiyan within the broader cultural context of medieval Khurasan. While previous scholarship has extensively addressed the typological, technical, and decorative characteristics of Khurasanian ceramics, comparatively less attention has been given to the structural principles governing their internal visual organization. Using an art-historical and visual-semiotic approach, the study analyzes five purposively selected vessels from a documented corpus of 15 objects. This study examines the representation of environmental criticism in Fiersa Besari’s song “Alam Bukan Tempat Sampah” through Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic framework. It employs a descriptive qualitative method, using the complete song lyrics as its data source. Analysis involves reading the text, identifying signifiers, interpreting signifieds, grouping meanings, and developing interpretations within the context of the lyrics as a whole. The findings indicate that environmental criticism is constructed through word choices, semantic contrasts, metaphors, imperatives, and repetition. This study aims to describe patterns of Indonesian language errors produced by a Russian speaker in social media content on the @marielle.world account and to identify the factors contributing to these errors. This descriptive qualitative study examined five posts, comprising one Instagram post and four TikTok posts. Data were collected using non-participant observation and note-taking techniques and analyzed through a five-stage language error analysis procedure. The findings identified 68 instances of deviation, classified into two analytical categories. This article examines estrangement as a structuring existential and aesthetic principle in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (1986) and Lost Highway (1997). Through close, plot-attentive readings intended to remain accessible to readers unfamiliar with Lynch, it argues that the films stage three interlocking dynamics: becoming a stranger to oneself, the fracturing of the ‘ground’ of ordinary existence, and life as a cosmic struggle in which human agency is partial and contested. Paul Tillich’s The Courage to Be provides the main theological–philosophical lens, clarifying how anxiety, non-being and courage shape scenes of desire, violence and transformation. As a part of its centennial advertising campaign, the Metropolitan Opera in New York commissioned the American figurative painter George Tooker (1920-2011) to create a fine art image inspired after Giuseppe Verdi’s 1859 opera, Un Ballo in Maschera. Within the artist's composition, themes around masquerading, skepticism, and surveillance arise, all of which are common threads within both Tooker’s and Verdi’s work. This article presents a graded Mandarin diction guide for English-speaking singers studying Chinese art song. Responding to the limited availability of Mandarin diction resources organized by level, it examines Qing Zhu’s “The Great River Goes East,” Yuanren Zhao’s “How Can I Not Think of Him?,” and Yong Chen’s “Love of the Sea” as beginning, intermediate, and advanced case studies. The analysis considers initials, finals, lexical tones, tone-sandhi, syllable structure, text density, and their coordination with rhythm, legato, and melodic phrasing.
