This report from the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium highlights findings from a multiple case study exploring enrollment practices related to advanced coursework matriculation in a suburban middle school and rural high school. In connection with the MERC Equitable Access and Support for Advanced Coursework study, this multiple case study included perspectives from students, parents, and educators as they reflected on the factors that support and inhibit access for advanced courses in their schools.

This study investigated perceptions about the correlation between the college people attend and long-term happiness. Its inquiry into whether college graduates believe where they go to college affects the chance for long-term happiness is a response to the growing concerns of high school students who are anxious about acceptance into an elite undergraduate college. There is substantial literature demonstrating that graduates of elite schools earn more money and professional success than graduates of standard schools (Rumberger & Thomas, 1993). This dissertation examines the history of the evolution of United States international education policy from 1900 to 2024, employing document analysis methodology to explore key themes that have shaped its trajectory. The study utilizes Cooper et al.'s (2004) Four-Dimensional View of Policy theory (normative, structural, constituentive, and technical) to analyze the complex interplay between diplomatic objectives, economic considerations, national security concerns, immigration, internationalization of higher education, and international students in the United States. The authors conducted a narrative literature review. The conceptualization of policy, with a specific focus on educational and public policies, was provided. The Future Expectation Scale of Adolescents (FESA) can measure future expectations of education and student career. This study aims to adapt the scale of the FESA work and education domain to the Indonesian language and culture. The adaptation in this study follows the six-stage category of the International Commission Test. Development of adaptation items using a forward-backward translation design involving six experts. This senior capstone project identifies the relationship between students’ learning and bullying, and how educators/parents can learn to identify signs of bullying and how to prevent it. Through the use of literature review and two anonymous interviews, one with a parent of a child who has been bullied and one with a person who has personally been bullied themselves, the result findings showed that bullying has a significant amount of negative effects in students education and overall well-being. The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study was to examine the decision-making process of K-12 parents living in the Appalachian Highlands who chose to remove their children from traditional public schools to join learning pods (sometimes referred to as pandemic pods) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
