based on the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) approach through a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform as a means to enhance the professional competencies of Physical Education (PJOK) teachers in Malang City. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 30 PJOK teachers who participated in the online training through four core TGFU modules, supported by instructional videos, formative quizzes, and a post-test. The hospitality and tourism sector in Africa drives significant employment and growth, yet many workers enter the industry through informal pathways that limit career mobility. Embedding lifelong learning within Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is therefore essential for reskilling, upskilling, and formally recognizing experiential learning. Opportunities for education on disability are sparse in many medical school curricula, leaving students ill-prepared to address the needs of patients with disabilities in their future careers. The purpose of our study was to design and implement a novel elective course on disability for medical students and evaluate the effect of the course on student awareness, attitudes, and clinical skills. Background: This systematic review of reviews and meta-analyses provides education leaders with ten years of evidence-based strategies for effective adolescent substance use prevention. Methods: Following the PRISMA 2020 protocol for systematic reviews, we searched the PubMed and PsychINFO databases on October 19, 2023, and identified 96 systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses involving adolescent drug use prevention from 2103-2023. Twenty-four papers met the criteria for final inclusion. Results: Educational leaders should know three areas to deliver effective evidence-based adolescent substance prevention: 1) foundational understanding of risk and protective factors, 2) components of effective prevention programs, and 3) drug-specific …

When the University of Mississippi Libraries acquired a collection of state-adopted school textbooks for K-12 from its School of Education, a decision was made to catalog the collection for browsing to anticipate the needs of its primary users, both “in service” and “pre-service” teachers. The textbooks would be grouped according to their grade level, and cuttered by subject area, instead of being classed according to its subject area. Teacher performance assessments in rural and urban areas are crucial to ensuring equitable education quality across a region. In urban areas, teaching performance assessments can help teachers provide information related to their ability to adapt to technological demands, curriculum, and high community expectations. This article examines how a sixth-grade pathways course at Kamehameha Schools in Hawai‘i leveraged Game-Based Learning (GBL) and Indigenous knowledge to foster student agency, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Designed and taught by school librarian Patricia Louis with support from a multidisciplinary instructional team, the Nā Lawai‘a Hawai‘i (Fishing, Hawaiian Style) elective engaged students in researching the ‘Ama‘ama (Hawaiian striped mullet) and the ecological challenges it faces, then translating their learning into the design of a board game, ‘Ama‘ama Escape. To prepare to teach and support AI literacy, we organized an internal mini-conference for our Academic Engagement department. During each session, librarians taught one another various AI-related modules (e.g., ethics, prompt design, tools) as though leading a real class with students. We encouraged the use of active learning strategies and asked participants to submit session proposals in advance so we could offer feedback.
