We examine how social movement organizations (SMOs), particularly third-party rating agencies, can catalyze rapid shifts in social norms among an organizational population. We propose that rating agencies can instigate new social norms by defining appropriate and acceptable standards of performance that prompt organizations to realign their behaviors to mirror these new standards, thereby accelerating changes in shared understandings regarding appropriate firm behavior. We tested our theory by analyzing how members of the S&P 500 index adapted to a new gender diversity rating by KLD Research & Analytics, focusing on the acceptance and implementation of gender diversity standards on corporate boards …

This study examines experienced hoteliers' perspectives on essential operational practices for delivering consistent, high-quality customer experiences, focusing on operational differences between Chinese State-Owned Hotels (SOHs) and International Branded Hotels (IBHs) in China. Through semi-structured interviews with 24 experienced hoteliers from SOHs and IBHs, the research identifies operational practices in IBHs that are perceived as more effective than those in SOHs. Additionally, the study explores operational practices that SOHs and IBHs could adopt and adapt to succeed in China’s post-pandemic hotel market. Complex global challenges cut across organizational and sectoral boundaries, increasing calls for holistic responses. Seeing the whole across diverse stakeholders is challenging for participants in complex systems, yet doing so is essential for engaging effectively in systems change. A promising new method known as relational mapping, based on relational coordination theory, has been used to facilitate complex systems change. This study examines challenges faced by subsistence women entrepreneurs during COVID-19, the crisis of 2020, and their resilience in addressing the circumstances. The results of qualitative interviews with 13 subsistence marketplace women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh are presented in this article. In the current study, two themes are found to best capture the experiences and resilience of women business owners in the subsistence marketplaces. Furthermore, the study provides important insights from informant interviews, showing how women business owners navigate their operations during a pandemic. The current study aims to find out how Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Asset (ROA) affect a company’s worth in banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange between 2017 and 2020. The study uses a quantitative descriptive method.
