Scoping Job Enlargement With The Cultural Dimension Of Individualism: An Industrial, Mark Wm. Cawman 2017 George Fox University

Scoping Job Enlargement With The Cultural Dimension Of Individualism: An Industrial, Mark Wm. Cawman

Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

Job satisfaction and sustainable job performance require managers to find the right balance between job enlargement and the division of labor in designing the optimum scope of work toward a continuum of employee engagement. This dissertation explores the cultural dimension of “Individualism” and its’ implication in this balance. If a manufacturing line is transferred from the United States (91 mean individualism score) to China (20 mean individualism score) does the scope of the work need to change to ensure that a greater population of workers is engaged and that they have work passion toward sustained performance (Hofstede, n.d.)? Does the …

What Lessons Can Be Learned From The Delivery Of The First Building On The Grangegorman Campus Using Building Information Management (Bim)?, Pat O'Sullivan, Avril Behan

Conference papers

There is an acceptance that BIM, via data management, can be integrated with FM to reduce costs during the Operations and Maintenance stage of a project. However, what has not been documented is the ‘on the ground’ reality which can be reviewed as a lessons learnt exercise to improve the implementation of BIM FM for future projects. This case study sets out to explore the realities of a client’s adoption of BIM based upon the actual experience of the Greenway Hub. Rather than relying on anecdotal evidence the research was based upon the real practices and experiences of the Dublin …

Considerations For Small Businesses Implementing Marketing Technology, Matthew Stallings 2017 Southeastern University - Lakeland

Considerations For Small Businesses Implementing Marketing Technology, Matthew Stallings

Selected Honors Theses

Small businesses are crucial components for not only the US economy but for economies around the world. Many of the firms struggle to stay in business and do not perform effectively and profitably, especially in the marketing aspects of business. The marketing strategies that larger organizations use do not necessarily work the best for small businesses. Therefore, small businesses are mostly conducting basic marketing principles by practicing customer relationship management (CRM). However, many of them are not unlocking their full potential by utilizing the Internet, E-mail, database software, and other marketing technologies. Thus, this paper offers research evidence to provide …

An Evaluation Of The Effectiveness Of The Criteria To Determine The Levels Of Compensation, Promotion And Other Benefits For The Crew Members And Its Effects On Airlines, Customers, And Crew, Danilo Andrade, Thiago Branco, Diogo De Carvalho, Alexandre Gandini, Priscila Hernandez 2017 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

An Evaluation Of The Effectiveness Of The Criteria To Determine The Levels Of Compensation, Promotion And Other Benefits For The Crew Members And Its Effects On Airlines, Customers, And Crew, Danilo Andrade, Thiago Branco, Diogo De Carvalho, Alexandre Gandini, Priscila Hernandez

Graduate Student Works

This study analyzes the effectiveness of management of flight crewmembers’ careers based entirely on seniority. The research evaluated if it is possible, through the exclusive use of seniority criteria, to recognize and compensate high-performance crewmembers. Although the seniority model indeed creates stability and predictability for managers and crew members, the employee's performance is not considered in career development, failing to recognize and reward good performance. The statistical analysis showed that the seniority does not have direct relationship with the performance of the crew member. Results also showed that crew who were promoted in seniority criteria, would not have been selected …

A Quantitative Examination Of The Relationship Between Servant Leadership And Age On Organizational Commitment In Faith-Based Organizations, Frank Deno

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

Servant leadership has grown slowly over the past four decades as an organizational style of leadership. Servant leadership is an excellent style for developing followers into their full potential, as it focuses first on the individual, while simultaneously developing capacity to achieve organizational goals. The workforce is constantly circulating, with older workers retiring and younger workers coming into the workforce. There are many factors influencing workers’ commitment to their organization, age is one of these factors and perception of leadership is another. Younger workers have different needs and different motivations than older workers. Faith-based organizations are a smaller segment of …
