Introduction: Poor quality in healthcare has resulted in avoidable patient complications, including readmission rates. Big data in healthcare can be analyzed and built into a tools, with machine learning, to aid in reduced readmission rates and overall positive patient outcomes.

Purpose of the Study: The intention of this study was to evaluate the ways that big data can be analyzed to improve healthcare, specifically readmissions, patient outcomes, and show cost savings. This study examined different ways that big data could be used in concordance with machine learning, including predictive analysis, to make these improvements.

Microaggressions are commonplace slights perpetuated against out-group members that reinforce negative stereotypes, often inadvertently and unconsciously. Workplace mitigation efforts have traditionally been focused on raising awareness with the belief that perpetrators are simply unaware of their actions. While these efforts have done much to raise awareness—especially for victims of microaggressions, who may be more sensitive than ever of their occurrence—some perpetrators consciously persist through awareness, often with even more negative implications to the victim such as minimization, dismissal, and further stereotype reinforcement. Breaking Down Barriers. Does social capital indirectly affect black/white economic outcomes via entrepreneurial activities? Does the relationship between social capital, entrepreneurship, and black/white economic outcomes change when social capital interacts with segregation? Drawing from Bourdieu's (1986) and Coleman’s (1990) social capital theory and prior scholars' regressive view theories of segregation, I propose that 1) social capital improves entrepreneurial activities and black/white economic outcomes, and 2) segregation’s interaction with social capital has an adverse effect on entrepreneurial activities and black/white economic outcomes. Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) have emerged as a new form of state-owned multinational companies (SOMNCs), structured to manage the wealth of countries and promote their economic development. They mainly function as institutional investors, but what drives those investment decisions has yet to be fully understood due to the limited prior research in this area. We report results from a field experiment testing hypotheses that examine what drives firms to seek new learning opportunities. Specifically, we draw on behavioral theory of the firm to predict how prior performance affects the likelihood a firm enrolls in business training. We also evaluate cognitive mechanisms connecting recruitment messaging and CEO growth orientation to firm participation. Our study randomly allocates over 10,000 firms to one of three experimental conditions—prevention, promotion, and neutral messaging—that vary the framing of a recruitment message for an innovation program for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore. Traditionally, transactive memory systems literature has focused on encoding, storing, and retrieving only task-related information in teams. This research project aims to investigate fuel tankering practices in the aviation industry, exploring their relation to carbon emissions and evaluating the Brazilian fuel tankering scenario in comparison to global and national policies and regulations. The study recommends sustainable national measures and compares global practices for minimizing the higher emissions due to fuel tankering. The results of the study show that the Brazilian aviation industry can sustainably neutralize the carbon emissions from the fuel tankering practice. The study recommends that airlines allocate part of the savings generated to purchasing carbon credits to offset the carbon emitted. Future research should focus …

The erasure of marginalized people, especially LGBTQ+ people, is commonplace in sport. As sport has become more commercialized, even at grassroots and youth levels), one group that has become even further marginalized and dehumanized are sports officials. Understanding the intersection of marginalized identities is important; as such, this study examined how homophobia and transphobia interplay with the sports officiating profession. ABSTRACT: Much research suggests that Whites are more likely to emerge as leaders than Blacks. However, this research has primarily focused on male leaders. Alternatively, an intersectional approach evaluating racial differences in evaluations of women leaders suggests that Black (vs. White) women have more behavioral leeway to express dominant leader-like behaviors, which are generally proscribed for women. Theoretically, more behavioral leeway to enact dominance should enhance Black women’s chances of progressing to senior leadership, but this is inconsistent with demographic patterns of leadership representation in America’s workforce. This study assesses the applications of AI in managing project processes and targets through a systematic analysis of publications from 2017 to 2021. The analysis has revealed interesting insights, trends, gaps, and issues. This study informs the researchers and practitioners of the status of AI applications in the management of project processes and targets. It helps stimulate research efforts that can lead to more advances in applying AI to augment PM practices.

Effective Performance Appraisal, Trustworthiness And Employees' Engagement In Deposit Money Banks, Thankgod Lato Kekii, Ann I. Ogbo Prof.

This study examined the mediating role of trustworthiness (ability, integrity, and benevolence) on the effective performance appraisal (EPA)-employee engagement relationship in deposit money banks in Nigeria. A survey was conducted as a sample of 149 of the deposit money bank employees, and a Hayes' three-way parallel mediation was used in testing the study hypotheses. We found that EPA significantly influences (positive) employee engagement and that integrity and benevolence significantly mediate the relationship between EPA and employee engagement, whereas ability does not mediate this relationship. These findings have implications for policymakers and managers of deposit money banks in Nigeria.
