Any resilient development that enables an entrepreneur to overcome a crisis is seen as an essential feature of the entrepreneur's profile. In order to acquire this quality, we must first understand how entrepreneurs perceive and assess their level of resilience. This involves defining the concept by identifying its underlying dimensions to conceptualize and measure it. Thus, this article presents the different stages of building a scale to assess the level of resilience of Tunisian entrepreneurs. Caked Up! is a small, local bakery in Oklahoma owned and operated by cake designer Lauran Fuller. Caked Up! serves cake, cupcakes, house-made ice cream, coffee, and an assortment of baked goods, including cake pops. In addition, they offer custom cake orders for special occasions. In March of 2014, Lauran opened the Caked Up! retail storefront. The case explains Lauran’s bakery from passion to performance, and gives an overview of the internal and external factors that have influenced its growth. This article summarizes a research study done from April 2020 until April 2021 to examine the challenges, response, and tactics, of entrepreneurs in rural southern Virginia. In particular, the research goes into depth of how the COVID-19 pandemic effected operations, how entrepreneurs responded, and what measures they took to stay viable. Finally, the article proposes a framework for rapid response in the case of future pandemics, natural disasters, or economic events that cause similar disruptions.

Family businesses are the engine that drives the United States economy. While extensive implications have been made in the literature about the advantages or disadvantages of family-owned businesses compared to non-family-owned businesses, the focus of this study was to show how small to medium-sized family-owned firms (FF SMEs) based in the United States can use their unique history to create a competitive advantage. Drawing on imprint theory and the resource-based view (RBV), this history-informed study helped identify the impact that founder imprints, business traditions, and storytelling have on the business performance of FF SMEs. It happens even more in hectic departments like Emergency Department and Intense Care Unit. The American Society for Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory Standard have recommended that the %3 should be the overall rate for blood contamination rate (Center for Disease Control, 2023). Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and describe educational changes at 4-year higher education institutions that are possible and probable by 2035 as perceived by a panel of experts. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) in China is unique worldwide in requiring disclosure of the timing, participants, and selected content of private in-house meetings between firm managers and outsider investors. We investigate whether these private meetings benefit hosting firms and their major outside institutional investors—blockholder mutual funds (i.e., funds with ownership ≥5%). Using a large data set of SZSE firms, we find that blockholder mutual funds have more access to private in-house meetings, and top management is more likely to be present, especially when a meeting is associated with negative news. The Effect Of Syntax Simplicity On Crowdfunding Performance, Yuanqing Li, Sibin Wu, Wencang Zhou

Management Faculty Publications

Using elaboration of likelihood model, this study examines how syntactic structure (structural and lexical simplicity) and nonverbal cues (smiling and professional attire) interact to influence crowdfunding performance. By studying 209 crowdfunding projects, we show that both structural simplicity and lexical simplicity are positively related to crowdfunding performance. Further, professional attire strengthens the simplicity and performance relationship. However, smiling shows mixed effects.
