Eight states have banned Affirmative Action due to the premise that preferential treatment of race in a college application is not fair to all students. The elimination of Affirmative Action policies has caused a significant decline in diversity at major public universities. To counteract this ban, many post-secondary institutions have implemented alternate plans to maintain their diversity.
