Through The Eyes Of The Homeless, Aisha M. Soto
Through The Eyes Of The Homeless, Aisha M. Soto
University of New Orleans Theses and Dissertations
When reviewing the entire project from start to completion, I can honestly say, Through the Eyes of the Homeless is a play about ten women and their plight. It illustrates their dealings with everyday issues of hurt, disappointment, abuse, love, and hope. I believe the true impact of this play is the undeniable prayer for help and hope within each monologue. Despite the horrors that are unveiled and released through hidden secrets, the undertone of betterment is truly resonating. My own expectation for this play is simply to strike awareness and understanding in the eyes of the people. It is …

Children of the street have no homes to go to; they live, sleep and struggle to survive on the streets. In the city of Tangier where this study takes place, most of the children …

Teen Empowerment Program Evaluation Empowering Youth And Adults As Agents Of Positive Change, Russell Schutt
Office of Community Partnerships Posters
Teen Empowerment has succeeded in developing and maintaining a program design for engaging at-risk youth and reducing youth violence that can serve as a model for other communities. Its systematic approach to selection, engagement, and transformation provide the foundation for individual achievement and community change. While the study contains substantial evidence of Teen Empowerment’s ability to produce positive results for youth at risk and for community wide change in patterns of adolescent behavior, there is a need to implement a more ambitious evaluation design to conduct the longitudinal and controlled studies needed to better understand the Model’s mechanisms of effectiveness …

Massachusetts Hospital School Program Evaluation Enhancing Transition To The Community, Russell Schutt
Office of Community Partnerships Posters
Throughout the years, MHS has responded to the changing medical needs of children and young adults in MA and continues to be a model program nationally. Currently, MHS educates approximately 87 students from 58 MA communities. Since 2003, about 10-17 students have graduated each year. At age 22, young adults with disabilities transition from students to emergent adults living in the community. Students graduating from the Massachusetts Hospital School (MHS) are faced with opportunities and choices with respect to how and where they will live, work, study, socialize and receive ongoing medical care. In order to understand how well current …
