Letters regarding the formation of a University of Maine blanket non-discrimination policy draft in light of the Civil Rights movement. Assistant Chancellor Stanley L. Freeman, on April 24, 1970, wanted President Winthrop C. Libby's comments and suggestions on the statement. President Libby states on April 28, 1970, areas where the University of Maine does not comply to the blanket non-discrimination policy draft. Ronald Banks, Assistant to President Libby, on April 28, 1970, gives the final policy on discrimination statement.

At the time when the LHRAA's San Diego (Cal.) chapter began, the matter of "Proposition 14" was before the California citizens in a referendum, giving the people an opportunity to speak out on the rightness of affording equal housing opportunities for all.

A larger-than-ever attendance of over 300 were on hand for the Lutheran Indian Conference in Sioux Falls July 31 to August 1 at Augustana Lutheran College. Most of them were Indians and most of the Indians were not Lutherans.

Police in Jackson, Mississippi-because they thought they heard a sniper's gun- fired random shots into windows of a college dormitory. Two young men are dead; nine are injured. In Augusta, Georgia, where police were called out to restore order after a riot had erupted, six men are dead; sixty injured.

William Stringfellow, attorney, and outstanding lay theologian is a longtime friend of LHRAA. He is the author of "A Private and Public Faith," "My People Is the Enemy, " and "Count It All Joy." In 1969, Dr. Stringfellow was presented with the Mind of Christ Award by LHRAA.
