In this session, the presenters will address the conference goal of exploring faith in thriving and its impacts on Adventism, education, and social issues, using Isaiah 1:17 as a guide. They will discuss how to teach students to “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows” by discussing specific class offerings, assignments and capstone projects intended to teach assessment and intervention skills, using a social justice perspective. Andrews University switched to a completely remote learning modality from the traditional face-to-face in-classroom instructions. This study was conducted to examine students’ perceptions of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their educational environment during the transition.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the Big Five personality type indicators and job satisfaction in the community mental health setting. The focus of this study was to gain a better understanding of whether a not-for-profit can benefit from the use of a brief personality instrument to recruit and retain individuals with the highest probability of job satisfaction. This research complements previous research which has revealed a positive correlation between certain Big Five personality traits and job satisfaction in several sectors. More than 20,000 phone calls are placed to domestic violence (DV) hotlines on a typical day, and one in three women and one in four men have been victims of some form of physical violence at the hands of an intimate partner within their lifetime (www.enditnow.org). Even though rates of DV are pandemic, very little literature has examined how religious beliefs impact people’s perceptions of DV. Even less has focused on perceptions of college students. Relationship Between Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Resilience, And Religious Orientation And Practices Among University Student Earthquake Survivors In Haiti, Harvey J. Burnett Jr, Herbert Helm

This study examined the prevalence of PTSD symptoms; the relationship between PTSD and resilience, religious orientation and religious practices; and how gender is associated with these variables among a volunteer sample of 140 students attending a Christian university in Haiti approximately four months after the January 2010 earthquake. Using the PTSD Checklist-Civilian (PCL-C), the Resilience Scale (RS), and the Religious Orientation Scale (ROS) found no significant relationship between PTSD, resilience, religious orientation and religious practices. Results did indicate that 34% of the sample had PCL-C scores indicative of PTSD; female participants had higher PTSD symptoms than males; higher levels of …
