The review is dedicated to the results of the international conference on the theme “Uzbekistan in the context of regional security and global changes”, which was held on November 7-8, 2019 in Tashkent. The organizers were the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the international scientific project COMPASS (Great Britain). The article is devoted to the results of the High-level International Conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, security cooperation and regional cooperation”. The article analyzes, comments and assessments of leading foreign analysts and researchers on the significance of the forum and the Tashkent Declaration adopted on its results for regional and global security and stability. The author notes that only negotiations can lead to the ultimate goal and make Afghanistan a stable, united and developing country.

Crises and conflicts in Middle East are compounded by the fact that the settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is still far from a solution and the peace process in Syria has just begun. Taking into account the current situation and taking into account the tensions between the states of the Middle East region, there is reason to believe that all the states of the region should sit at the negotiating table in order to create, based on reasonable compromises and permissible outcomes, an acceptable model for building a regional security system for everyone .
