I love assembling the seemingly remote pieces of the puzzle and watching the image take form. (It is perhaps no small wonder that I pursued a career in librarianship, where research is front and center.) Like so many of my fellow English majors, I also love the romantic notion of the writing life—nestling in at a cozy coffee shop to write for hours on end, the shop’s buzz in the background, saturated in the …

Law Faculty Contributions to Books
The technology revolution has impacted every aspect of our daily lives. It is hard to imagine a world without smartphones and the Internet. Where and how we access information has changed dramatically over the last decade. Gone are the days of traveling to the library check out books and read printed journal articles. Library Anxiety Of Law Students: A Study Utilizing The Multidimensional Library Anxiety Scale, Stacey L. Bowers
Sturm College of Law: Faculty Scholarship
The purpose of this study was to determine whether law students experienced library anxiety and, if so, which components contributed to that anxiety. The Multidimensional Library Anxiety Scale (mlas) developed by Dr. Doris Van Kampen was used to assess library anxiety levels of law students. The mlas is a 53 question Likert scale instrument that measures the construct of library anxiety. Participants in the study were law students enrolled in a private midwestern university during the 2009-2010 academic year who completed the survey instrument. Law students are a unique graduate school population who undergo an extremely rigorous and competitive course …
