Digital libraries have become of increasing significance in recent years, developing in functionality and content, and becoming accessible to a wider community of users. The digital library will provide a seamless environment where the co-operative access, filtering, manipulation, generation, and preservation of these documents will be supported as a continuous cycle. The goal of this poster is to provide new librarians or information professionals in the medical and health science field with some ideas, tools and resources to be successful. Some new librarians do not have an extensive background in medical or health sciences and may feel overwhelmed when working with veteran health professionals. The outcome for viewers is to gather new ideas in four key areas of medical and health librarianship: instruction, collection development, research collaboration with faculty, and professional development.
