The majority of the college students prefer to use the Web instead of frequenting the library. Purpose: This paper identifies ICT tools and programmes that are relevant to Igbo studies in tertiary institutions in the South East Nigeria; it examines the opportunities and challenges in applying these technologies in the enhancement and promotion of teaching and learning Igbo in Nigeria universities.

Methodology/Approach: Questionnaire, interviews, and observations were used in collecting data for this study. The population was 118, comprising 31 lecturers and 87 students randomly drawn from the Department of Igbo Studies in six selected tertiary institutions in the South East Nigeria.

This study has investigated the status of hardware, software, networking and IT support available in university libraries of Pakistan. Survey method of research was employed to collect the data through a questionnaire survey. Fifty two out of 82 chief librarians/head librarians of central libraries of the public and private universities responded. The study concluded that except few, a vast majority the university libraries have computers and other peripherals; use of ‘free and open sources’ software increase in the university libraries; only few university libraries implement standard integrated library software, while the use of in-house developed library software is common; most …

In this paper, we review the literature on how information literacies are manifested in scholarly workflows for undergraduates, graduate students, and scholars, and the need to support integrating library resources into their knowledge practices, and how available tools support their needs. We argue that research is needed on how libraries and digital tools both support, and indeed teach, knowledge-building practices across the entire lifecycle of knowledge. Winona State University, Krueger Library, Summer 2013. Time for a library website reboot. We wanted our online presence to be user-focused, simple, and elegant. Our dilemma? No developers on staff at our library. Our vision was galaxies ahead of our tools and knowledge. We turned to our university Web Communications and Web Development teams to boldly go where the library website had not gone before. At first, we educated each other.
