The study was designed to examine the staff training indices for effective library services in Donald E. U. Ekong Library, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The indices in the study relates to the challenges and strategies to enhance staff training in the library. The study was guided by three objectives and research questions respectively. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for this study was 104 staff comprising both professional and para-professional staff of the library.
