Revamp Your Customer Service: Using Data To Improve Customer Service Practices, Christopher M. Jimenez, Diana Reyes

The FIU Librarians will reveal the statistics from a pilot program to formalize their Incident Management and Problem Management processes using the LibAnswers ticketing system on Springshare's LibGuides CMS. The ticketing system allowed the librarians to track the effectiveness of their troubleshooting steps, measure turnaround time for resolution, and manage their transition to new products and services. The pilot program enhanced interdepartmental communication, improved customer service outcomes, increased transparency, and identified trends and potential problems before they became widespread issues.

Academic libraries play multifaceted roles in connection to student success. Successful partnerships between student success-focused units and libraries are essential to building a supportive environment for students. The presenters will share the initial findings examining student success initiatives within university and college libraries in North America. Specifically, the researchers will discuss the findings from focus groups conducted with Student Success Librarians and the ways they engage with campus partners to implement student success initiatives.

The study investigated the attitude of lecturers towards collaborating and communicating with the librarians for effective teaching in universities in south-south Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprised 2,500 lecturers in faculty of humanities and science in federal universities in south-south Nigeria and the sample size was 750 lecturers selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The instruments for data collection was questionnaire. Academic libraries are increasingly aligning their goals and resources to support student success on their campuses. This work can combine responsibilities like information literacy instruction, library outreach, and campus collaboration. This presentation will delve into the findings of a national survey and focus groups about student success efforts in academic libraries to provide insight into strategies for campus collaboration. Participants will identify potential partnership opportunities to increase collaboration, examine roadblocks to success, and develop takeaways for expanding their approach to working with campus partners.

The purpose of this pilot study is to discover how academic instruction librarians discuss the concept of information literacy with faculty colleagues outside the library and information science field; how they negotiate shared meanings of the term; and what pedagogical actions result from these conversations. The researcher interviewed a purposive, convenience sample of three early-career ILI librarians employed at private colleges in the Northeastern United States to ascertain their perspectives on the quality and nature of their conversations with faculty members about information literacy. Teaching students to critically think and effectively research and write is a tall task, but an important one in ensuring students become informed citizens. The good news is we don’t have to face these challenging concepts alone. In Spring 2022, USU Librarians conducted a research study to better understand information literacy instruction that is occurring in our local high schools as well as understand teacher/librarian collaborations.
