The paper investigated the awareness and perception of the academic staff of private universities towards the use of institutional repositories in Nigeria. Four research questions were formulated and three hypotheses were tested in the study. The descriptive survey research design of correlation type was adopted for the study with a population of 259 academic staff randomly selected from six selected universities in the three geo-political zones that make up Southern Nigeria. This study investigated awareness of Institutional Repositories (IRs) amongst students of the Department of Library and Information Science, the Federal Polytechnic Offa. Descriptive survey research design was adopted; one hundred and fifty (150) students, which constituted the sample for the study, were selected using simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was the instrument for data collection and data were analyzed using simple frequencies and percentages. From the study, it was established that the respondents were aware of institutional repositories and that there was an institutional repository at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa. The study has investigated the application and utilization of ICT in the degree college libraries of Assam. Two sets of structured questionnaires have prepared to collect the data from the respondents. The questionnaires were distributed to 192 colleges, out of which 126 colleges have responded. Again, user questionnaires were distributed to 784 users of different colleges, out of which 540 questionnaires have received. The findings of the study have revealed that the use of ICT in college libraries has improved the management of library activities. The aim of the study was to know the usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the degree college libraries of Assam. For solving the research objectives, questionnaire, interview and observation method have been used to collect the primary data from the respondents. The findings of the study have shown that among the 126 college libraries surveyed, 55 libraries are fully automated and 67 are partially automated while 51 libraries have developed institutional repositories. This study examines the contributions of African countries to open digital repositories in the world information space. Two online directories of open digital repositories were used as data sources. The OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories listing 3,670 repositories as at 6th January, 2019. The Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR) is a directory of 4,580 institutional repositories and their contents as at 7th January, 2019. This study investigates how institutional repositories are making hidden or lost cultural digital heritage accessible in academic libraries in selected countries within Africa. The design of the study is a descriptive design. The research makes use of a structured questionnaire prepared using Google forms and sent through e-mail to 40 members of academic staff in selected academic libraries in three African countries namely; Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda. In all, 35 responses were received, generating a 87.5% response rate. Data collected was analyzed using an Excel Spreadsheet.
