In this Letter to the Editor, Billies (2021) responds to critical and supportive opinion pieces in the British Gestalt Journal (BGJ) following their plenary presentation at BGJ’s 2018 annual seminar (see Asherson Bartram, 2019; O’Malley, 2019). As author of the companion article "How/ Can Gestalt Therapy Promote Liberation from Anti-Black Racism?” (Billies, 2021), Billies, who identifies as white, discusses the intent at the seminar to support white people to increase accountability and reduce harm in dialogue with people of color, while supporting the work and needs of people of color on their terms from a Gestalt perspective. Secondary Student Schedule Changes: Accountability Issues In School Counseling Program Management, Tarrell Awe, Agahe Portman, Susannah Wood, Anna Vivianni

Journal of Counseling Research and Practice

Descriptive data collected on student schedule changes have been missing in the literature. School counselors agree the task of changing schedules is overwhelming, but there is no measure indicating the extent of time and attention devoted to schedule changes. The purpose of this article is to present data gathered during the crucial schedule change period just prior to the beginning of a new academic term. The findings may provide an incentive for school counselors to begin collecting data related to scheduling and establish concrete measures for providing information for dissemination to school district decision makers.

The purpose of this phenomenological study was be to examine, identify, and describe the perceived impact of accountability, spirituality, and hope (ASH) on men who have recovered from Internet pornography (IP) addiction. This study was conducted to understand the lived experiences of individuals who completed a recovery program for IP addiction, and it included eight men in Central Louisiana area as participants. The central theory guiding this study was the 12-step Model of Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA). As a reaction to school violence, zero-tolerance became the rule in many school districts. The latter practice silenced student voices and institutionalized the overrepresentation of minority students in discipline situations. An over-reliance on punishment has not significantly changed behavior; therefore, it is time to explore proactively using restorative practices to allow students to value the reasons behind rules instead of simply complying to avoid punishment.
