Begins with prophecies of a certain Madre Matiana, who predicted dire calamities, wars, pestilences, earthquakes, miseries, etc., for the beginning of the 20 th century. And lo, these things were coming to pass, in Mexico and abroad! Why? God's punishment for wild human passions and prevailing disbelief. The latest proof: the earthquake of November 19, 1912, now known as the Acambay Earthquake. (Acambay is a village about 100 km from Mexico City. 164 people perished in that quake.)
