The aim of research is to reveal national-cultural and cognitive peculiarities of translation of conceptual metaphors from Uzbek into French and develop modern principles of translation of conceptual metaphors. Introduction. The article is dedicated to the phonostylistic features of one of phonetic changes elision in English and Uzbek languages which occur in pronunciation. The connotative meanings conveyed with the omission of sound or syllables in the verbal root-stems of the compared languages are shown on the basis of well-grounded examples. The phonopragmatic aspects of the literary speech of elision are thoroughly analyzed and studied. In order to search for information about words specific to oral speech styles in the Uzbek language corpus, first of all, tags about such features of words should be included in the corpus database. To do this, it is highly recommended to use stylistic notes in the explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language on the relevance of lexemes to the style of speech. Methods. The purpose of the study is to describe the morphonological rules for choosing the allomorph of the suffix -ost (-is), to study its role in the formation of the morphonological image of the derived word. The description of abstract feminine nouns with the suffix -ost (-is) made it possible to find out the following dependence: first, the morphonological characteristics of the stressed and alternations predict the allomorph of the suffix (a specific manifestation of the word-forming suffix), and the allomorph determines the stress and consonant outcome of the stem of the derived word. The purpose of the study was to assess users’ satisfaction with electronic resources available in university libraries in Punjab, Pakistan. The study adopted the quantitative research method to achieve its objectives. The quantitative data were collected through the questionnaire from library users in eight public universities by employing the convenience sampling technique. The findings of the study reveal that the libraries lacked adequate electronic resources. The respondents were satisfied only with the internet resources. This study discusses how International Financial Institutions (IFIs), primarily the International Monetary Fund (IMF), have incorporated the social dimension when designing their reform programs in the Middle East. This research explores three case studies of IMF programs in Tunisia, Jordan and Egypt, and examines how the process of designing and implementing social protection programs has changed after the Arab Spring. It has been observed that there are no standard scales for measuring the job satisfaction of female library professionals. A scale would prove to be an excellent tool for developing policies for female library professionals. A questionnaire is prepared, which is further tested for reliability and validity, considered a standard scale. A survey method is used to collect the data for this purpose. The study suggests that job satisfaction variables are not unidirectional in their effect. The job itself can be a source of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Objective: This study examined the impact of a dichotomous versus scaled response format on prevalence rates of sexual violence perpetration and victimization, thus conceptually replicating Hamby et al., 2006 and extending those findings to the context of sexual violence.
Methods: Two samples were recruited from Amazon Mechanical Turk and were randomly assigned to either a dichotomous or scaled response format of the same questionnaire. Sample 1 was used to examine perpetration and received a perpetration specific version of the Post-Refusal Sexual Persistence Scale (PRSPS). Sample 2 was used to examine victimization and received a victimization specific version of the PRSPS. …
