Luego de contextualizar la "educación superior" que se impartió durante la colonia en la Nueva España, el trabajo describe, con base a la literatura histórica pertinente, diversos aspectos de la "profesión académica" durante ese periodo. Así, se discute la naturaleza del trabajo académico característico de esa época, la forma en que se impartían las clases, la contratación de nuevos profesores y las relaciones entre el profesorado y la burocracia gubernamental y eclesiástica con la que se relacionaban los catedráticos ("académicos") de la Real y Pontifica Universidad de México.

Is the family subject to principles of justice? In A Theory of Justice, John Rawls includes the (monogamous) family along with the market and the government as among the "basic institutions of society" to which principles of justice apply. Justice, he famously insists, is primary in politics as truth is in science: the only excuse for tolerating injustice is that no lesser injustice is possible. While important normative work has been produced on various aspects of governance, including trusteeship (Cheit, Holland and Taylor, 1991; Kerr and Gade, 1989), institutional autonomy (Berdahl, 1990), and governance struc- tures (Richardson ct al., 1998) little theoretical inquiry has been devoted to two essential questions of governance: how arc key decisions actually made in the postsecondary sector, and who makes them? Asociado a las recientes transformaciones de la educación superior Mexicana ha emergido un nuevo "académico" al que, a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados a la fecha, todavía no conocemos satisfactoriamente. Tomando en cuenta dichas transformaciones, la investigación realizada en el país, la tradición Estadounidense respectiva y una visión sustentada en el hecho de trabajar como académico en una institución publica estatal, este trabajo identifica, respecto del académico, algunas áreas que demandan una mayor atención. Research on land tenure and use control and the socioeconomic sets of regulations in the agricultural rainfed sub sector of Sudan, come to focus for many reasons. Anthropogenic pressure, expanding animal population and migration led to accelerated impacts on both the ecological systems and land yields. Conflicts between governmental regulations and indigenous rules contribute to generate inconsistencies on who have the right to till the land and hence own it. With such transformation logically, more intensive commercial farming took place and land intake exponentially increased. Este trabajo discute la influencia de la experiencia universitaria en la decisión de los estudiantes de perseguir una carrera académica. The recent emergence and current development of the Imami Shi'i school in Indonesia and Malaysia can only be understood against the backdrop of the early history of the Si 'ah, as well as that of the history of the Islamization of the Malay-Indonesian tor that binds these three historical processes together in a remarkable case of "conversion" within Islam is the 'olawiyyali sufi order (al-tariqah Archipelago. Abductive reasoning takes place in forming "hypotheses" in order to explain "facts." Thus, the concept of abduction promises an understanding of creativity in science and learning. It raises, however, also a lot of problems. Some of them will be discussed in this paper: After analyzing the difference between induction and abduction (1), I shall discuss Peirce's claim that there is a "logic" of abduction (2). The thesis is that this claim can be understood, if we make a clear distinction between inferential elements and perceptive elements of abductive reasoning. Almost no research has focused on visual, informational, and operational enhancements, or how Web sites of different higher education programs in the discipline differ from each other. This research addresses some of the unanswered questions about how journalism/ mass communication Web sites use enhancements to communicate with online users.

In this paper a discussion is presented for the inclusion of the valuing of 'differences' between people as the cornerstone of hospitality management education curricula using a three-pronged approach. The models advocated for achieving this aim are 'identity development' (Myers, 1991), Action Learning (Revans, 1969) and Awareness and Competence (Howells, 1982). It is argued that the nature of the hospitality industry and the global environment which it serves demands such educational processes if self-aware, critical and ethical managers are to be developed.
