E-Commerce Implementation In Kosovo, Besnik Skenderi, Diamanta Skenderi

UBT International Conference

In this paper, author had analyzed journal articles that were published by Alemayehu & Heeks, (2007) and Hwang, Jung, & Selvendy (2006). Both articles are about e-commerce and in first article (Alemayehu & Heeks, 2007) authors had analyzed impact of cultural differences, telecomunication infrastructure and local market. In addition, authors of this research paper were focused on consumers that are purchasing through e-commerce companies.

Second analyzed article (Hwang, Jung, & Selvendy, 2006) is about exploring e-commerce benefits in developing countries and developing countries are home to more than 80% of the world’s population, and are the site for growing use …

Towards Secure Data Flow Oriented Multi-Vendor Ict Governance Model, Lars Magnusson, Patrik Elm, Anita Mirijamdotter Oct 2017

Towards Secure Data Flow Oriented Multi-Vendor Ict Governance Model, Lars Magnusson, Patrik Elm, Anita Mirijamdotter

UBT International Conference

Today, still, ICT Governance is being regarded as a departmental concern, not an overall organizational concern. History has shown us that implementation strategies, which are based on departments, results in fractional implementations leading to ad hoc solutions with no central control and stagnation for the in-house ICT strategy. Further, this recently has created an opinion trend; many are talking about the ICT department as being redundant, a dying out breed, which should be replaced by on-demand specialized external services. Clearly, the evermore changing surroundings do force organizations to accelerate the pace of new adaptations within their ICT plans, more vivacious …

Predicting Locations Of Pollution Sources Using Convolutional Neural Networks, Yiheng Chi, Nickolas D. Winovich, Guang Lin Aug 2017

Predicting Locations Of Pollution Sources Using Convolutional Neural Networks, Yiheng Chi, Nickolas D. Winovich, Guang Lin

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Symposium

Pollution is a severe problem today, and the main challenge in water and air pollution controls and eliminations is detecting and locating pollution sources. This research project aims to predict the locations of pollution sources given diffusion information of pollution in the form of array or image data. These predictions are done using machine learning. The relations between time, location, and pollution concentration are first formulated as pollution diffusion equations, which are partial differential equations (PDEs), and then deep convolutional neural networks are built and trained to solve these PDEs. The convolutional neural networks consist of convolutional layers, reLU layers …

Recognition, Internalization, Growth: Intuitive Design For Archival Representation, Jaime L. Ganzel May 2017

Recognition, Internalization, Growth: Intuitive Design For Archival Representation, Jaime L. Ganzel

Graduate Student Symposium

Although there is a pressing need for archival description and access systems to be more intuitive and user-friendly, the uniqueness of archival records presents significant barriers to establishing simplistic and standardized conventions for the representation of archival materials. Indecipherable finding aids and access tools prevent new and inexperienced researchers from accessing the unique information and documentation held in archives. This article aims to help open the archival record to new and non-traditional archival users, support individual development of archival literacy skills, and cultivate a greater level of archival awareness in our society by developing a usable model for archivists to …

Mapping Community Space And Place In Mto Wa Mbu, Tanzania Through Surveys And Gis, Jessica Craigg

Georgia College Student Research Events

Cities throughout the African continent have been developing at an unprecedented pace, many of them due to the influence of the tourism industry. This is particularly true in Tanzania, a country famous for its national parks and their draw to tourists who help provide money for development. However, the only way to get the whole story on how to spend this money is through the experiences and needs of the people themselves. This study focuses on a small town in northeastern Tanzania, Mto wa Mbu, situated near Lake Manyara National Park, and its people’s perceptions of the park and community. …
