Design, Synthesis, And In Vitro Antitumor Activity Of 6-Aryloxyl Substituted Quinazolinederivatives, Meixia Fan, Lei Yao

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Quinazoline derivatives are a class of important antitumor drugs known as small molecule inhibitors that include epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors. Based on the structure of poziotinib, a series of 6-aryloxyl substituted quinazoline derivatives were designed and synthesized. The in vitro antitumor activities of the compounds were evaluated by the 3-(4,5-dimethyl-thiazol-2- yl)2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method using the human gastric cancer N87 (HER2), nonsmall-cell lung cancer H1975 (EGFRT790M/L858R), and A549 (EGFRWT) cell lines. The most promising compound 4m exhibited potent antitumoral activities with IC50 values of 6.3 nM and 7.5 nM for N87 and H1975 cell lines, respectively. Meanwhile, it …

DNA sensing always has an open meadow of curiosity for biotechnologists and other researchers. Recently, in this field, we have introduced an emerging class of molecules containing azo and guanidine functionalities. In this study, we have synthesized three new compounds (UA1, UA6 and UA7) for potential application in DNA sensing in alcoholic medium. The synthesized materials were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-visible, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. Their DNA sensing potential were investigated by UV-visible spectroscopy. The insight of interaction with DNA was further investigated by electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry) and hydrodynamic (viscosity) studies. …

Biological Activity Of Recently Discovered Halogenated Marine Natural Products, Gordon Gribble

Dartmouth Scholarship

This review presents the biological activity—antibacterial, antifungal, anti-parasitic, antiviral, antitumor, antiinflammatory, antioxidant, and enzymatic activity—of halogenated marine natural products discovered in the past five years. Newly discovered examples that do not report biological activity are not included.
