SQL queries are a common method to retrieve information from databases, much like asking a detailed question and getting a precise answer. Plug-and-play queries simplify the process of querying. In a Plug-and-play SQL query a programmer sketches the shape of the input to the query as a hierarchy. But the programmer could make a mistake in specifying the hierarchy and it takes programmer time and effort to specify the hierarchy. The PLANTS database provides basic plant information to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), its clients, cooperators, and the general public via the World Wide Web (Fig. 1). The foundation of PLANTS is a taxonomic backbone (checklist) of the vascular and nonvascular plants of North America (north of Mexico) and United States territories in the Caribbean and Pacific regions. Attribute data are appended to this backbone pertaining to distribution, vegetative specifications, nativity, federal and state status, crop data, growth form, growth parameters, species abstracts, and images.

In accord with the necessity to enhance ecosystem services and productivity in food systems, is the increase of data availability at multiple scales and over time. To help meet this need, we discuss the development of a National Forage Data Hub which will act as a platform to curate, share, and analyze data pertaining to forage systems. The increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotic agents is a main global public health problem. The use of nanoparticles is one of the promising ways to overcome microbial resistance to antimicrobial agents. Metal nanoparticles are increasingly used to target bacterial strains. Advances in nanotechnology, in particular the ability to synthesize nanoparticles of specific size and shape, are likely to lead to the development of new antibacterial agents. The establishment of a publicly accessible web-resident database of published and current European research on agronomy, animal production and environmental impact of legume based grazing systems is reported. This database facilitates the sharing of information among the partners of the "Low input animal production based on forage legumes for grazing systems" (Leggraze), a research project funded by the UE (QL K5 CT-2001-02328). It also forms an important tool for transferring the results of the project to the wider research community and to end users in the agricultural sector and to policy makers at national and community level.

Model validation is a critical step in the development, deployment, and governance of machine learning models. During the validation process, the predictive power of a model is measured on unseen datasets with a variety of metrics such as Accuracy and F1-Scores for classification tasks. Although the most used metrics are easy to implement and understand, they are aggregate measures over all the segments of heterogeneous datasets, and therefore, they do not identify the performance variation of a model among different data segments. Freshwater management and research frequently use the trophic data of freshwater fishes. Despite this fact, it is difficult to perform a simple search of dietary information for any one fish species. FishBase represents, to our knowledge, the largest compilation of freshwater dietary information to date. However, it excludes a large portion of the ecological literature due to its development taking place prior to the creation of most modern scientific search engines. Compared to low mass stars, the formation of high mass stars is not well understood. To understand better how high mass stars form, we can utilize masers, naturally amplified point sources of microwave radiation. One example is the methanol maser, which falls into two categories. Class I methanol masers form in the bipolar outflows from the protostar, and Class II masers form in the accretion disk. We present an alternative method for pre-processing and storing point data, particularly for Geospatial points, by storing multilateration distances to fixed points rather than coordinates such as Latitude and Longitude. The model is efficient in the sense that it saves time when writing a query and promotes query portability and reuse. Observations of the presence or absence of surface water in streams are useful for characterizing streamflow permanence, which includes the frequency, duration, and spatial extent of surface flow in streams and rivers. Such data are particularly valuable for headwater streams, which comprise the vast majority of channel length in stream networks, are often non-perennial, and are frequently the most data deficient. This work constitutes progress toward the development of a knowledge base for braids, knots, and their colourings. The main result of this development is the creation of a logical model for storing data pertaining to braids, two-dimensional projections of three dimensional knots, finite quandles, and colorings of braids and knots by quandles. It uses the Entity Relationship data reference model as its starting point and makes the original design there.
