Sidesteps can impose high demands on the knee joint and lead to non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Understanding how different constraints shape an athlete’s movement strategy and the associated joint demands can help design training interventions to increase injury resilience. Motor capacities, such as muscular strength and power, act as boundaries for the safe execution of perceptual–motor skills and co-determine the emergence of unique movement strategies. Increasing single- and multi-joint strength enables a broader solution space for movement strategies and increases load tolerance. Introduction

The objective of this retrospective study is to evaluate outcomes in patients who underwent the fertilized anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction procedure. We aim to investigate the return to previous level of activity, safety, and re-rupture rates of the ACL reconstruction augmented with bone marrow concentrate, demineralized bone matrix, autograft bone, and a suture tape (the fertilized ACL).

Methods

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear is associated with declined performance upon return to sport, with high rates of reinjury. Despite ACL reconstruction, ACL tears induce neuroplasticity, increasing reliance on vision and preparation time in movement. This increased reliance on vision and time could lead to motor control strategy deficits under sport-specific tasks. CASE HISTORY: The patient was a 49-year-old male who presented to the clinic for further evaluation right calf swelling and pain. He reported that the pain began approximately three weeks before the visit while in physical therapy for ACL knee surgery rehab. Introduction: ACL rupture is an extremely common injury among athletes of various sports. There are multiple different grafts that can be used in ACL reconstruction surgery. Two forms of graft that are most often considered in the case of ACL reconstruction are the hamstring tendon (HT) autograft and patellar tendon (PT) autograft. Certain biomechanical abnormalities, specifically at the hip and knee, and neuromuscular abnormalities, such as unbalanced quadriceps-to-hamstrings activation ratios and certain activation patterns prior to initial contact and after initial contact, have also been associated with an increased likelihood of noncontact ACL injuries occurring.
