Introduction: It is important to investigate factors that may increase the fall risk in the geriatric population. This study aimed to determine the relationship between: 1) mild cognitive impairments (MCI) and history of falls; 2) home environmental hazards (HEH) and history of falls; and 3) MCI and HEHs among older adults.

Introduction: Physical therapy (PT) practice is expected to dynamically respond to the growing needs of older adults. Currently, there is paucity in meeting the demands of the aging Filipino population that may be linked to the status of undergraduate PT education. Purpose: Physical performance measures, like walking speed, identify and predict preclinical mobility disability but are rarely used in routine medical care. A preventive model of care called Mobility Checkup is being designed to reduce mobility disability in older adults. This study had two purposes: 1) determine feasibility and outcomes of the Mobility Checkup, and 2) identify preferences of older adults regarding this model of care using a discrete choice experiment.

Patients falling as a result of geriatric and psychiatric impairments are at a much higher risk than the average patient population. An acute care inpatient psychiatric team used baseline metrics to demonstrate increasing fall rates per month that surpassed the unit’s target number. As a result, a quality improvement project around falls was felt to be warranted.

Introduction
The aim was to investigate whether therapeutic massage was effective in relieving pain in elderly residents with dementia.
Methods
A randomized controlled study was conducted in an aged care facility. Ten participants with dementia or advanced dementia were allocated to an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group received 10?min of massage (effleurage, kneading, and trigger point therapy) four times per week for 4 weeks. The Pain Assessment in Advanced Dementia scale was used as the outcome measure.
Results
