Background Because scarred tissue has less blood flow than normal tissue, fewer hair grafts are taken, and the patient may require many sessions to achieve the acquired density, resulting in a lengthy treatment duration of up to 5 years. The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) improves these findings. Patients and methods A prospective randomized-controlled study was conducted on 15 patients with cicatricial alopecia and candidates for follicular unit extraction hair transplantation, with ages between 25 and 60 years.
