Aim of the work: To assess the role of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling with vitrectomy for primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and detection of associated macular changes

Method: 50 patients with a primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment that match the inclusion criteria were studied. Patients were subgrouped into two groups; the first group underwent ppv without ILM peeling and the second group underwent ILM peeling with vitrectomy.
