Diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM) is a growing epidemic that affects millions of people throughout the world. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has created many new challenges, including access to health care for treatment of chronic diseases, such as diabetes (Robson & Hosseinzadeh, 2021). Telehealth has offered a promising approach to improve the management of diabetes(Bellman, 2021). Diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020a) and the ninth leading cause of death worldwide (World Health Organization [WHO], 2020), has increased by 70% over the last two decades (WHO, 2020). Type 2 diabetes (T2D), the most prevalent type accounting for 90% to 95% of diagnosed cases (CDC, 2020a), affects individuals of all ages and often results in major health problems including stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease. Family health history (FHH) can serve as an entry point for preventive medicine by providing risk estimations for many common health conditions. College is a critical time for young adults to begin to understand the value of FHH collection, and to establish healthy behaviors to prevent FHH-related diseases. This study seeks to develop an integrated theoretical framework to examine FHH collection behavior and associated factors among college students. A sample of 2670 college students with an average age of 21.1 years completed a web-based survey. Less than half (49.8%) reported actively seeking FHH information from their family members. Objective: To study psychological stress among family practice patients to highlight its importance.
Design: A cross sectional study. Setting: Family Practice Center of Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi - Pakistan, in July 2003. Objective: To study the pattern of use and non-use of the services of hakim practitioners, among patients visiting the Family Physicians, at a teaching hospital in Karachi.
Design: Cross-sectional survey
Place and Duration of Study: Family practice centre, The Aga Khan University, Karachi, from March to June, 2001.
Methods: A total of 387 patients were surveyed against an estimated sample size of 347. A questionnaire was developed and administered to collect information on the patterns of the use and non-use of the services of hakim practitioners among the respondents.
