Every year, there are new products on the market advertised to preserve a youthful appearance and reduce the signs of aging. One classic example is eye cream. Due to the periorbital region’s high susceptibility to damage from external factors, along with its tendency to demonstrate early signs of aging, periorbital skin is a common target for anti-aging therapy. While some of these ingredients have proven efficacious in clinical trials, others have not shown to be clinically significant. TikTok is the newest and most popular form of social media for young audiences around the world. Healthcare professionals can present medical information to all audiences in an engaging and short-length video manner. Our study evaluates the reliability of Monkeypox-related information presented on TikTok. We assessed the quality of the information presented using DISCERN, a peer-reviewed tool used for the evaluation of health information presented to consumers. Findings from our study suggest physicians, members of the healthcare field, and non-medical individuals post videos supplying viewers with information that is rated unreliable. Melanoma is a skin cancer that arises in melanocytes; it is the fifth most common cancer in the United States with approximately 100,000 new cases per year. Current treatments for malignant melanoma are surgical excision, radiation therapy and systemic therapy; however, the five-year survival rate for patients with stage IV is 29.8%. Introduction:

Skin cancer is less prevalent in persons with darker skin color compared to those with light skin, but contrarily is associated with greater mortality rates. Experts agree this is primarily due to late detection. Challenges in early detection include low public awareness, uncommon presentation, lower index of suspicion among health care providers, and decreased access to specialty care. To address some of these barriers, we designed a survey-based study to discover current beliefs, perceptions, and attitudes of urban youth towards sun protection before and after an educational intervention.

Introduction: Dermatology consultation for inpatient skin disorders enhances care by changing diagnoses, management plans, and reducing length of stay. Our goal is to quantify the time delay from primary team to dermatology consult, and its impact on hospital course as well as overall patient care.

Methods: Retrospective chart review of all inpatient dermatology consults from October 1, 2013 to December 31, 2016 at five hospitals within the Detroit Medical Center. Data included demographics, diagnosis, management plans from primary and consulting teams, and timing of initial recognition of skin problem to dermatology and other specialties consultations.

Immunohistochemical staining can be of great utility in differentiating various cutaneous spindle cell neoplasms, particularly when the histomorphological appearance of the lesions is inconclusive. Nuclear staining for ETS-related gene (ERG), a highly sensitive endothelial cell marker, has seldom been studied in the context of cutaneous spindle cell neoplasms. Little is known about its specificity for vascular differentiation. In this pilot study, immunohistochemical analysis for ERG was performed on fifteen dermatofibromas (DF), ten keloids, and nine dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans tumors (DFSP). PRAME (PReferentially expressed Antigen in MElanoma) is an antigen that is expressed by malignant cells in melanoma, as well as other cancers such as breast carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, and leukemia. PRAME immunohistochemistry has proved effective in identifying malignant melanocytes in melanoma lesions, but it is unclear if it may be used to distinguish melanoma from benign melanocytic conditions, such as lentigo senilis. In particular, melanoma in situ may be confused with lentigo senilis clinically and histologically, thus PRAME immunostaining is potentially useful for differentiating these two lesions.
