In this presentation we seek to explore the intersection of dental and medical health and its implications on prevalent diseases in America. We have also developed an educational pamphlet dentists and physicians can provide to their patients with strategies for patients to maintain their oral and medical health.

A research study completed by Kritikos et al. investigated student pharmacists and their characteristics in order to find a relationship with their views of research and attitudes towards pharmacy practice research. The study also recognized perceived barriers to pursuing or completing pharmacy practice research and identified ways that pharmacy educators could promote research interest in pharmacy practice. The research study concluded that student pharmacists perceive a lack of awareness of the needs, benefits, and career opportunities associated with pharmacy practice research. This dataset contains the results of a Readiness for Interprofessional Learnings Scale (RIPLS) pre-test and post-test that was administered in association with a health professions course in inter-professional education (IPE). Between 2016 and 2018, 251 surveys were collected from medical and nursing students at the University of Miami who participated in a one-day course on inter-professional education. All 251 participant surveys were entered into the data file. 245 surveys were complete and used in the study analysis. The survey is comprised of demographic questions, followed by 19 pre-test and 19 post-test questions assessing student perceptions of IPE. The excel spreadsheet …
