Local health departments (LHDs) struggle to serve their communities in the face of ongoing fiscal constraints. Fiscal constraints have led to the elimination and reduction of maternal and child health services (MCH). LHDs have used various strategies to minimize the negative impact fiscal constraints of elimination or reduction of services provided to their communities. Many LHDs have used strategies such as developing partnerships. Cross-jurisdiction resource sharing is considered a possible means to improve efficiency and effectiveness of public health service delivery. A merger of the Tuberculosis (TB) clinics of a rural and a metropolitan jurisdiction in East Tennessee provided an opportunity to study service provision changes in real time. A mixed methods approach was used, including quantitative data on latent TB treatment outcomes and qualitative data from staff interviews, as well as documentation of changes in staffing time in TB services. In 2008, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) revised and standardized the reporting policy for community benefit expenses for nonprofit hospitals. These expenses are required for tax exemption. At that time, the IRS designated some categories of activities as non-eligible as a community benefit, but still mandated their reporting on hospitals’ Form 990, the annual tax filing for nonprofit organizations. One such category was community building, which encompasses a broad range of nonmedical determinants of health and an important potential source of population health revenue. Methods: Two hundred twenty six SCI patients were asked to participate in this study after completing a questionnaire. The annual incidence of vertebral artery dissection is 1 in 100,000. The clinical manifestations are diverse, including dizziness, occipital headache, neck pain and posterior circulation ischemia. One fourth of patients with vertebral artery dissection develop posterior circulation stroke, so vertebral artery dissection is considered one of the common causes of young stroke. The most common ophthalmic signs after posterior circulation ischemia are blurry vision followed by diplopia, whereas complete visual loss is uncommon. Background: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used to treat tendinopathy. Tendon healing requires migration of tendon cells to the repair site, followed by proliferation of these cells and collagen synthesis. Purpose: This study evaluated the effects of acetaminophen, etodolac, and indomethacin on tenocyte migration, proliferation, and synthesis of type I and III collagen. Methods: Rat Achilles tendon cells were treated with acetaminophen, etodolac, and indomethacin. Introduction: Recurrent hemoarthrosis leads to synovitis, bone erosion, and subsequent hemoarthropathy in hemophilia. Few clinical trials have focused on the efficacy and adverse effects of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), specifically cyclooxygenase-2-selective NSAIDs, in treating hemoarthropathy in patients with hemophilia. This study investigated the effect and safety of celecoxib in treating hemophilic arthropathy with synovitis. Background: Little is known regarding health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and its association with physical fitness among nurses. Purpose: To investigate whether physical fitness was associated with HRQOL among nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 232 volunteer nurses who were 31 years of age and free of disease-related disability. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy, caused by the compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel over the wrist. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how different wrist positions change median nerve image and their corresponding results of nerve conduction study (NCS). Disability, a long-standing problem affecting mankind, is associated with medical, social welfare, political, and human rights problems and, therefore, is complex. The World Health Organization (WHO) promulgated the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) in 2001, facilitating the study of disability in recent years. According to the WHO Disability Report, the worldwide prevalence of disability is 15%, and the minimal worldwide prevalence is estimated to be 1 billion cases. There are approximately 1200 new cases of traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) each year in Taiwan. Traumatic SCI often results from motor vehicle crashes, acts of violence or sports injuries. Encephalocraniocutaneous lipomatosis (ECCL) is a very rare neurocutaneous syndrome with hallmark lesions including cranial lipomas, ocular lipodermoids and brain abnormalities. ECCL was first described by Haberland and Perou in 1970, and it is sometimes referred to as Haberland syndrome. The genetics of ECCL are unknown, however it is generally considered to be a genetically mosaic condition. The main purpose of the diagnostic ultrasound examination for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is to compensate for the inadequacies of physical examinations and nerve conduction studies and thereby reduce the false negative rate of CTS diagnosis. Objective: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is commonly used to treat sports-related tendinopathy or tendon injury. However, scientific evidence of the effects and underlying molecular mechanisms of tendinopathy treatment remained limited. Jenis penelitian adalah Research and Development (R and D) dengan pendekatan survei melalui tes pengukuran.
